Continuing with her message, she shared her disappointment: "I am very sad to not be able to take to the stage today, I've been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans in Peru. I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I'm able to perform. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you."

Concluding with words of gratitude and affection, Shakira said: "Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all. Shak." Her devoted followers have shown an outpouring of support across social platforms, with heartfelt messages wishing her a speedy recovery and patience until she can return to the spotlight.

"Stay strong! We hope you recover soon," one fan wrote. While another chimed in: "Strength Queen, your health comes first, we send you many good vibes so that you recover, don't worry, your pack will understand. You're going to give a good concert when you're recovered."

The Colombian singer, known for her hit song Chantaje, had just performed in Lima on Friday as part of her tour, which recently wrapped up its Brazilian leg. Shakira is currently touring to promote her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, where she uses music to express her feelings about her well-publicized split from Gerard Pique.

The album features the worldwide hit Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 and bagged the Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards earlier this month. Shakira's tour is set to continue across Latin America before moving to Canada and the U.S. in May for a series of concerts through June. Last year, she made headlines when she sold out 13 stadiums in less than two hours after tickets went on sale.

Despite being on the Latin American leg of her tour, it's rumored that Shakira will be heading to the UK next year marking eight years since her last tour there. A source spilled to The Sun: "Shakira is a massive force in music around the world and it's been a very long time since she last performed in the UK. She has a new lease of life with loads of youngsters into her music now, so she is hitting the road with her most ambitious and impressive tour ever. Shakira is chucking everything but the kitchen sink at her upcoming gigs and wants to do a full lap of the globe. She's going all-out."

There are whispers that Shakira's tour might span several years, as the star herself has expressed an unstoppable momentum. Shakira shared: "l always have the drive for more, there's never a time that I come off stage and don't think there's something I could have done better. I can never say no to a challenge. There are always new mountains to climb."
