Woman buys $24.99 dress and can't stop 'shaking' when she learns value

Vanessa Nagel, who often buys designer items at bargain prices, was left in shock when she spotted a certain brand in the charity shop - and couldn't stop exclaiming 'Oh my god'

There's nothing quite like snagging an incredible deal and discovering it's worth far more than you ever imagined. And one woman was left trembling with excitement after spotting a high-end designer piece at a charity shop, thrilled by her bargain find. TikTok user Vanessa Nagel, who goes by @mycuteassfinds, was clearly over the moon about the true value of her discovery.

"I don't know what to say. I'm shaking. I don't think, I know that we just found a Gucci dress, and I believe it's Gucci x Tom Ford, specifically 1998," she exclaimed, revealing she'd uncovered this treasure at the thrift store. Upon discovering the garment, she kept repeating "Oh my god" while turning her camera to showcase the dress in all its glory.

The piece appeared to be a simple 'little black dress'. However, it was enhanced with leather detailing and Gucci hardware, giving it a distinctly luxurious appearance.

Vanessa then examined the label, which verified that the size 8 garment was authentic Gucci. The tag indicated the dress required professional dry cleaning and was manufactured in Italy.

The high-necked, open-back design looked sophisticated on the hanger – and would appear even more stunning on someone attending a formal occasion.

According to Newsweek, Vanessa spent merely $25.99 for the designer piece. Apparently, she recognized she'd discovered a "piece of history" the moment she spotted it.

Similar versions of this dress are currently being sold pre-owned online for $4,200. "It's not just about finding designer; it's about finding quality items made from good fabrics that make you feel your best in a sustainable way," she shared.

She's also scored some incredible finds like a gorgeous Barbie Miu Miu dress and a Balenciaga city bag from thrift stores.

However, her discovery of the dress received mixed reactions, with some expressing their confusion.

One critic commented: "I do not understand designer fashion...like, it's just a black dress."

On the other hand, another defended: "The fit, stitchings, little Details, fabrics - there's a lot of differences to this dress and the ones you can buy at Zara".

Yet, one woman commended her for recognizing the specialness of the dress. They described the garment as "nondescript," but acknowledged it's a "great find".
