Texas boy, 11, found weighing just 46lb in home that made officer 'nearly throw up' as mom charged
Rachel Blaylock's 11-year-old son weighed just 46 pounds when an officer who 'nearly threw up' when entering the mom's Texas home found him locked in a filthy bedroom and covered in feces
A Texas mother was allegedly found to have been keeping her 11-year-old autistic son in horrific conditions and refused to take him to hospital, even though he was severely malnourished.
Rachel Nicole Blaylock's nonverbal son weighed just 46 pounds and had feces "caked" under his fingernails when he was found by officers on May 13, police said. Officers had gone to a mobile home in Baytown, outside of Houston, after receiving a call to conduct an "urgent welfare check".
Blaylock answered the door to a responding officer and allowed her inside the property. Upon stepping inside, the officer immediately noticed that the home was infested with flies and reeked of fecal matter, with "the smell being bad enough she nearly threw up," according to court records.

The boy's room was allegedly covered in fecal matter and he had dried feces on his face, arms, hands and "caked" under his fingernails, the records stated.
Blaylock claimed the boy could not use a toilet so would go to the bathroom in his room, pick up the feces and throw it around, police wrote. She also said he would not wear a diaper.
The boy's bedroom door was a screen door locked from the outside so he was unable to leave on his own, according to the officers. The mom said the screen door was so she could keep an eye on him.
A Child Protective Services investigator had told Blaylock to take her son to the hospital because he was so malnourished, but the mother refused. An average 11-year-old boy weighs 88 pounds.
"I can't just drop everything I'm f------ doing and take him to the hospital so a quack a-- doctor can say 'ohh I don't know what's wrong with him so we can see another one,'" Blaylock allegedly said.
Police also spoke with Blaylock's mother, who lived on the property. "She is not a good mom," her mother allegedly said.
Blaylock's mother claimed that the 41-year-old would often tell her son to "shut up" and made him sleep in a room with only a mattress, according to court documents. Blaylock and her boyfriend also allegedly used the $200 she received monthly in food stamps for themselves.
The boy was taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe autism. Doctors said he also had extensive dental decay" due to neglect and there was also "concern for possible sexual abuse."
Blaylock was arrested earlier this month and has been charged with injury to a child. Her next court date is scheduled for November 18.
The mother was also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Blaylock had a cylindrical container on her belt loop, which she told authorities "contained her baby daddy's ashes" but authorities determined they crystal meth, court records show.
Blaylocks's son is currently in foster care, investigators said.
