Kevin Durant tries his luck with Kay Adams after bringing up past snub
Kevin Durant has been busy in Houston since joining the Rockets, and he's wasted no time in trying to turn his attention towards one former NBA figure: Kay Adams
Kevin Durant hasn't even stepped foot on the court in a Houston Rockets jersey following his blockbuster trade, but he's already making waves. It comes as a former WNBA star was forced to address Durant dating rumors.
During a recent sit-down on Kay Adams' 'Up & Adams' show, the former NBA MVP grabbed attention by confronting Adams for ignoring him at a previous game - before smoothly transitioning to extend an invitation for her to visit Houston for barbecue and fresh start.
Durant didn't waste any time getting into it with Adams, who was reportedly linked to Colts quarterback Daniel Jones last year. "If you come down to Houston, which I'm expecting you to come to a game ..." he started. Adams fired back, "I came to a game - you literally would not even wave."
Durant maintained he only discovered the following week on her show that she had been there. "Which is crazy," he added, shaking his head.
Adams held her own, reminding him she'd already informed him about her departure.
Durant, unfazed, quickly responded: "It's alright, we moving on to the next season. I'll see you at one of these games, we going for BBQ down at Texas when you get out here."
Durant has also been eager to embrace his new surroundings. He shared with Adams that Texas already feels like home due to its "southern hospitality," noting that she would need to "immerse yourself in the culture when you get down here."
The former Texas Longhorns standout elaborated on that sentiment during his initial press conference with Houston media at Toyota Center. "I felt that this was a place that I can settle in and live, actually," Durant revealed when discussing June's trade from Phoenix to Houston.
"I never thought about it, actually, but I always said Houston is a good place to move to."
After executing a blockbuster offseason trade to acquire Durant in an unprecedented seven-team deal, Houston has transformed from a rebuilding project just three years ago to a bona fide Western Conference contender.

Season ticket sales reportedly surged over 25 percent following Durant's arrival, evidence of the anticipation surrounding his debut in Rockets red.
Durant won't have to bear the load alone. Despite the loss of veteran guard Fred VanVleet to a torn ACL, a devastating hit for a team already lacking at point guard, Houston doubled down on bolstering its new superstar with depth.
Steven Adams continues to be a reliable interior force, while newcomers Clint Capela and Dorian Finney-Smith bring defense, grit, and experience.
Most crucially, the Rockets preserved their young core: Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr. , and rookie Reed Sheppard are all projected to develop alongside Durant, giving Houston one of the most balanced rosters in the league.
