Samsung issues urgent warning to all Galaxy phone owners - check your device now
Samsung has issued an urgent warning to all Galaxy phone owners, urging them to download the latest software update as soon as possible. Here's everything you need to know
If you're carrying a Samsung Galaxy phone, you need to immediately navigate to your settings and install the newest system update. The South Korean tech giant has recently released a September security patch that addresses more than 11 problems currently impacting devices.
Making matters worse, one of these vulnerabilities has received a 'critical' classification and absolutely cannot be overlooked.
This urgency stems from the fact that cybercriminals have apparently already identified this weakness and are actively exploiting it to target users worldwide. "Severity: Critical," Samsung cautioned. "Out-of-bounds Write in libimagecodec.quram.so prior to SMR Sep-2025 Release 1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.", reports the Express. The news emerges after Samsung’s One UI 8 update lands this month and it’s loaded with next-level AI tools.
"Samsung was notified that an exploit for this issue has existed in the wild."
For those unfamiliar with the terminology, executing arbitrary code enables digital criminals to potentially install malicious software or obtain elevated access to a device.
This capability can subsequently be leveraged to extract personal information and monitor affected users.
This represents a severe security concern, which explains Samsung's rapid response to address the problem.
Anyone owning a recent Galaxy model is strongly advised to download the most current patch immediately.
