Opera Neon now lets you make videos with Sora 2

Opera Neon Omnibox with various features including OpenAI Sora 2 video creation, Neon Do, and Neon Make

Opera Neon, the premium agentic browser by Opera, can now make videos using one of the most advanced text-to-video models in the world, Sora 2 by OpenAI. Simply open the browser and type in your query and make amazing videos, that you can easily share with others, directly from your browser. Sora 2 is immediately available for Opera Neon users across most regions of the world.

The new Opera Neon features the Opera AI engine, which is model agnostic, powered by the latest models from companies such as Google and OpenAI. Sora 2 is OpenAI’s newest video generation model, which launched last week to a wave of hype and acclaim.

Here’s how it works

To use Sora 2 to create a new video, open the starpage of Opera Neon and type in your prompt. Ensure you have @make active and that you specify that you like to use the Sora 2 model. The latter is needed as Opera Neon is a multi AI engine. When you have produced the video, Opera Neon will let you share it with others via a unique and private link on operaneon.com

Opera Neon gets things done for you

Opera Neon, at its core, is designed to move beyond passive web browsing and act as your intelligent collaborator. One of its key features is “Tasks,” which are self-contained workspaces that allow the browser’s AI to understand the context of what you are doing. For example, if you are planning a trip, you can create a “Trip Planning” task. Within this space, Neon’s AI can analyze, compare, and act on information across multiple websites and documents, all within that single, organized context. This means Neon will not mix up information and prompts between tasks.

Another key feature is “Neon Do,” which allows the browser to act on your behalf. This function can handle everyday online chores like filling out forms, researching the tickets, or purchase options for you. “Neon Do” operates directly within your browser session, meaning it can work with sites where you are already logged in without needing to share passwords or re-authenticate with cloud services. This local execution ensures that sensitive tasks are handled securely on your device.

Furthermore, Opera Neon features “Neon Make,” a feature designed to create and “vibe code” for you.  This means it can generate code, images, or even entire websites from descriptive, high-level prompts.  For example, you could instruct the browser to “create a simple portfolio website with a dark, futuristic theme.” The browser’s AI then interprets this “vibe” and produces the corresponding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, providing a functional starting point that can be further refined. This moves beyond simple code completion by interpreting aesthetic and functional intent directly from natural language.

In addition to this enabled access, Opera Neon continues to integrate other AI models for a variety of tasks, positioning the browser as a central tool for users who work extensively with AI. The browser is currently available to users who have signed up for the waitlist, with invitations being sent out progressively.
