Keith Urban drops Nicole Kidman song and female band member as he returns to stage

Keith Urban is back on stage for the first time since wife Nicole Kidman officially filed for divorce - and dropped his song about her from his set

Keith Urban has returned to the stage for the first time since the news broke that he has split from wife Nicole Kidman - and appeared to have dropped the song about his Hollywood star ex from his set list.

The 57-year-old country singer sparked speculation all was not well between the couple - who have been married 19 years and share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14 - when he altered lyrics that referenced Nicole, 58, in his track The Fighter to mention his female guitarist Maggie Baugh instead.

As speculation mounts that Keith has 'moved on with a younger woman', his relationship with Maggie was called into question when he performed the track at a concert in Las Vegas back in April - with Keith joining Maggie on stage, pointing at her and belting out: "I was born to love you."

He later added: "Maggie, I'll be your fighter," before they hugged one another on stage. In a more recent clip, Keith sang: "When they're tryna get to you, Maggie, I'll be your guitar player."

But since wife Nicole filed for divorce this week, the singer appeared to have dropped the song, which was inspired by his love for Nicole - and his female guitarist Maggie - from his performance.

Appearing on stage solo at the Giant Center stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania in the US, the Australian-American singer instead replaced it with his hit Wild Hearts’, which encourages fans to chase their dreams.

It comes days after news of Keith and Nicole's split was made public. Though the Big Little Lies and The Perfect Couple actress is said to have been 'blindsided' by the shock divorce and only filed official papers on September 30 citing "irreconcilable differences".

The Hollywood megastar, who was spotted still wearing her wedding ring at an event days before the filing, is understood to have been "hurt and very betrayed" by the split, which reportedly wasn't what she wanted.

A source told PEOPLE magazine: "Nicole's hurt and feels betrayed. It's devastating to her. She's shocked". They went on to claim that Nicole "didn't want this and has been fighting to save the marriage."

It's been reported that the pair have been living separate lives "since the beginning of summer". And a source told TMZ that singer Keith had "acquired his own residence in Nashville and moved out of their family home".

Nicole reportedly made several attempts to save their marriage, but Keith was already "done". Their separation comes just months after the country singer revealed he had been forced to be away from his family due to his latest tour.

Speaking to fans, he said: "Looking out from a stage and seeing people singing, forgetting about all the stress in their lives, cutting loose, and feeling ALIVE- that’s what it's about for me. Lots of hits, new songs, things we won't even think about until we're onstage and loads of guitar. We're gonna make this tour the best night of your life!"

According to insiders, Keith initiated the separation, citing unhappiness in the marriage. A source told the Daily Mail: "Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour. The intimacy isn't there, they are just going through the motions [of being married]. If this separation gets them back together, that would be amazing, but Keith had to call her out that he isn't happy."
