Godzilla 2 trailer released: King of Monsters shown in its full glory

Godzilla 2: King of Monsters has released an exciting new trailer which shows the beast at its best

Godzilla 2: King of Monsters has finally released its next epic trailer and it really shows off what a destructive adventure to expect.

The next installment in the new MonsterVerse that was started with Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island, the sequel will pit Godzilla against some horrific creatures this time around.

The new story follows Monarch, the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency, as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

When these ancient super-species — thought to be mere myths — rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

The chapter sees the return of Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins from Godzilla, but also introduces new characters.

Kyle Chandler plays our hero Mark, looking to save his ex-wife and Monarch paleobiologist Emma (Vera Farmiga) and their daughter, Madison (played by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown).

Charles Dance also features, along with O'Shea Jackson Jr. as Barnes, who is part of Monarch's special military forces, G-Team.

The new trailer shows off the film's stars more, as well as the behemoth creatures that threaten their characters.

The film is expected to be followed by a mammoth crossover, Godzilla vs. Kong, which will pit Godzilla against the mighty ape King Kong, which is expected to come in 2020, directed by Death Note helmer Adam Wingard.
