A 'hype-inducing' action film fans say is 'one of the best superhero movies' released in years is now streaming on Prime Video.
Blue Beetle is now available as part of the streaming giant's catalogue for subscribers. The film served as the second-to-last release in the DC Extended Universe, positioned between The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Nevertheless, numerous enthusiasts maintain their affection for the picture, with some even expressing hope that director James Gunn might opt to resurrect it within his upcoming DC cinematic universe. Gunn has remarked on how the production can exist independently, detached from the less triumphant DCEU offerings.
Launched in 2023, Blue Beetle follows Jaime Reyes as he unexpectedly comes into possession of an ancient piece of extraterrestrial biotechnology known as the Scarab. Once the Scarab selects Jaime as its symbiotic partner, he receives an extraordinary suit of armour capable of remarkable and unpredictable abilities, permanently altering his fate as he transforms into the superhero Blue Beetle.
This marked the debut big-screen appearance for this particular comic book hero. The film achieved the fifth-highest Rotten Tomatoes rating amongst DCEU productions with 78% and continues to be regarded warmly by audiences, reports Surrey Live.
One viewer simply declared: "As DC films go this is the best since The Batman."
