Arc Raiders maps, monsters and new pre-order bonus revealed as players brace for Server Slam tests

Arc Raiders is preparing to launch its new Server Slam, and the game's development team has revealed a number of details about what you can expect to see in the title

Arc Raiders has just unveiled a host of key details about the upcoming game, along with a new pre-order bonus that you can secure.

A fresh shooter is poised to make its mark in the gaming universe, making it an incredibly thrilling time for fans of the genre. As Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 vie for supremacy, it's the perfect moment for a game like Arc Raiders to step into the spotlight and offer a more strategic experience.

After all, with Call of Duty offering a Black Ops 6 free week to divert attention from the Battlefield 6 release date, perhaps we could do without the underhand tactics for a while.

Arc Raiders is gearing up to invite players into the action one final time before its official launch by introducing the new Arc Raiders Server Slam, and gamers are evidently buzzing with anticipation for the opportunity to try out the title – and now, Embark Studios has given players a glimpse of what they can actually expect in the new test with a fresh blog post.

So, what can we anticipate from the Arc Raiders maps, and the customisation waiting for you? Here's what you need to know.

Arc Raiders maps

Scattered across the world of Arc Raiders are several significant POIs that have been disclosed in a fresh blog post from Embark. Here's a sample of what you can look forward to exploring in the game's Dam Battlegrounds:

  • Buried City – a pre-collapse city now buried under sand dunes, boasting a hospital, mall, a town square and more
  • The Spaceport – a launch facility full of old-world tech, now derelict
  • The Blue Gate – an area in the higher mountains that houses open areas, small towns and underground tunnels
  • Stella Montis – a new area that Arc Raiders is teasing will come later, as “what this is and how to get there is still unknown”

These locations boast their own weather and times of day, with players also getting the opportunity to experience special conditions like a Night Raid, where limited visibility and increased Arc presence are offset by superior loot.

Arc Raiders enemies

Your main adversaries in Arc Raiders are, naturally, Arcs – the mechanical beasts that have now claimed dominion over the planet. The smallest of these you'll encounter are the Ticks, small and elusive eight-legged spider machines, while the Snitch acts as a flying drone that will call in reinforcements if they spot you.

On the larger end of the scale are the Leapers, which do exactly what their name suggests, and the Bombardier which will launch massive mortar strikes with the assistance of the Snitch.

There are plenty of other mechanical enemies out there, but the toughest of them is the Queen, a colossal building-sized spider monster with immense firepower. It's these Arcs that guard the most significant points of interest, so defeating them will have to be your primary objective.

Arc Raiders hub world

In Arc Raiders, humans have established their homes underground in Speranza, where you will return after battle to spend skill points to learn new abilities, complete Feats to earn Raider Cred to spend in Raider Decks (which are essentially Battle Passes), and browse your Codex.

This is also the prime spot for a bit of shopping with the Speranza Traders, who have their own motives and will set you off on your own missions.

For many, the highlight of this area will be the personalisation options available. You can change your face, face style, hairstyle, and body type, as well as equip various cosmetics like backpacks and charms.

Arc Raiders Pre-Order Bonuses

To round off the informative blog post, the game's team has unveiled a new pre-order bonus for Arc Raiders to make early purchasing worthwhile. From now until launch, pre-ordering the game will bag you the Bruiser Bundle (which includes the Bruised Face Style, Punch Hands Emote and Boxing Gloves Backpack), along with the already existing Lucky Duck bundle (featuring the Hatchling Backpack and Golden Rubber Duck Backpack Charm).

Pre-orders are open across all platforms, so dive in and grab the game now if you fancy some extra cosmetics when you hit the battlefield. We'll see you topside.
