Aldi’s Jo Malone and Diptyque-style candles are back with savings of up to £350

Take a trip down to Aldi's middle aisle to shop these designer-inspired candles before they sell out

If you like your home to smell like a £300 designer candle but without that price tag, Aldi’s latest launch might be your solution. The budget supermarket’s Hotel Collection Winter Fragrance range has just landed in stores, and it’s already being compared to the likes of Jo Malone, Diptyque and The White Company, except everything is under £20.

With more than 30 seasonal scents in the line-up, this might be Aldi’s most luxurious and expansive candle drop yet. There’s Sweet Iris and Peony Blush for floral fans or Orange, Cinnamon & Clove and Ginger Biscuit for those who want their living room to smell like a Christmas market. The savings offer up to £350 compared to designer equivalents.

The standout piece of the range is the Hotel Collection Classic Ceramic Candle, £6.99, available in Sweet Iris, Rose & Clove or Fig Tree. It’s a minimalist dream that looks far more expensive than its price tag suggests. And with a 49-hour burn time, it’s rivalling Diptyque’s Figuier Large Scented Candle without the £79 spend.

Then there’s the Brown Jar Candle, £4.99, which might be the cosiest thing you’ll buy all season. Hot Chocolate smells like freshly made cocoa with a hint of peppermint, while Warm Glow mixes amber, sugar and spiced tobacco for that perfect fireside scent. If you prefer something sweet, Praline Cream is like a dessert in candle form.

But, if you’re after a centrepiece candle, the XXL Hurricane Candle, £19.99 for a huge 2.1kg, is the big one to know. Burning for a huge 158 hours, it comes in Chocolate Orange, Ginger Biscuit and classic Pomegranate and Lime, Basil & Mandarin. Aldi claims this single candle could save shoppers over £350 compared to Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir Candle 2.1kg version.

The range is in stores now, and with prices starting at £4.99, this is the easiest way to fake a five-star scent on a budget. But as every Aldi fan knows, the catch is always the same– once they’re gone, they’re gone, so head to your middle aisle soon to avoid disappointment!
