People convinced Keir Starmer 'looks like Christian Bale' in clip from 30 years ago
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, 62, has been compared to actor Christian Bale after a clip of him in his 30s resurfaced online — prompting praise for "ageing well"
People were left stunned after they found out what Keir Starmer looked like almost 30 years ago — with some comparing him to Batman actor Christian Bale.
Sir Keir Starmer, 62, became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom following the General Election in July 2024. He served as leader of the opposition for four years before claiming the title and becoming the first Labour PM since Gordon Brown left Number 10 in 2010.
But Keir was in the public eye long before becoming a Member of Parliament in 2015. He was a prominent lawyer, working as a barrister specialising in human rights and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002.
He also served as Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013. However, his work isn't what has people talking after resurfaced clips from his previous career emerged online.
A viral TikTok account named Fame Through Time, which is dedicated to showing celebrities through the years, has shown videos of the PM from as far back as 1994 - which has dropped jaws of Brits online.
In the clip, which has gained more than 25,000 likes, shows Keir as a 32-year-old barrister from the ITN Archives, discussing how he believed the court system needed to change to make it a place that "the ordinary person feels they can go."
It then showed clips for every year leading to his speeches as Prime Minister this year — leading to compare him to the Batman Begins star Christian Bale.
A viewer wrote: "Younger him got a look of Christian Bale". And it seems that many agree, as hundreds liked the comparison that became the top comment on the video.
Other fans were also amazed by his age — with many believing he was younger than he actually is. One user said: "He's aged well to be honest." Another added: "To be fair he looks great for his age," as a third said: "62? Genuinely thought he was 45." Someone else penned: "Blimey he’s aged well."
