Netflix adds Oscar-winning Christian Bale film dubbed an 'all-time classic'

Netflix has just added an Oscar-winning 2015 drama hailed as "one of the most important films of this era".
Directed by Adam McKay, famed for his work on the Anchorman franchise, The Big Short is now ready for subscribers to enjoy without an extra charge.
With big names like Oscar winners Christian Bale and Brad Pitt joined by nominees Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell, the cast is nothing short of spectacular.
Focusing on the lead-up to the disastrous 2008 financial crash, it zeroes in on savvy investors who spot the imminent collapse of the US housing market and concoct a plan to cash in on the catastrophe.
The film takes its cue from the investigative pages of Michael Lewis' non-fiction novel, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, which scrutinises the inflated early-2000s US housing bubble.
The bursting of said bubble not only shook up property prices but also the lives of countless Americans, reports Surrey Live.
Despite tackling such intricate subject matter, the movie managed to enchant cinema-goers with its accessible narrative style around a weighty topic.
On Rotten Tomatoes, where the movie enjoys a mighty 89 per cent rating, a reviewer extolled: "All Time Classic. Probably the best business genre film I have ever seen.
"It takes probably the most complex subject in modern financial history and makes it understandable ENOUGH to pretty much anyone. That alone should have earned an Oscar nomination."
Fans were delighted when The Big Short bagged an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2016 Academy Awards. Additionally, it was in the running for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Supporting Actor thanks to Christian Bale’s performance.
Critics weren't the only ones impressed; movie buffs also hailed the film as a pivotal piece of cinema.
On IMDB, a fan expressed their admiration saying: "The Big Short is one of the most important films of this era and one of the best."
They added: "I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. It is an illumination, a magical pairing of a director's sensibility to exactly the correct form that most fully allows it to blossom and hold water."
