IF Functions

This function will allow you to evaluate your date and do a calculation based on the result or enter a
value dependent on the result.

For example in the sheet below we want to enter an IF statement in column xx that returns Yes if the
value in column x is higher than the value in column x and No if it is not.

1. Activate the Formulas ribbon


2. Choose Logical from the Function Library and then select IF
The following dialog box will be displayed:

3. Click on the Logical Test box and type the following:

C4>B4

This will analyse the value in cell C4 to see if it is greater than the value in B4

4. Click in the Value_if_true box and type Yes

5. Click in the Value_if_false box and type No

6. Click on OK to complete the formula
