PRE-QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS
FOR
OIL IMMERSED & DRY TYPE (CAST RESIN) DISTRIBUTION
TRANSFORMERS
1.
Fully dimensional drawings to scale and in A3 sized sheets, giVing constructional
details and material specifications of all parts and components for 1000, 1250 & 1600
KVA (Kuwait Rating), 11/0.433 KV, 3 Phase, Dyn 11, 50 Hz, Distribution Transformers
(Oil Immersed with Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) fitted with HVand
LV cable end boxes at the sides. The normal ratings of the transformers shall be the
maximum continuous ratings under the worst temperature conditions encountered in
Kuwait (55C).
2.
Complete type test reports and certificates for the above types and ratings of
distribution
transformers
designed and constructed
as per the technical
specifications and requirements of the Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW),
Kuwait, or for transformers of similar rating, design and construction from an
Internationally Recognized Independent Test Laboratory (ASTA, KEMA or CESI).
Also, test certificates and reports to verify that the transformers are capable of
sustaining without any damage to any part three phase symmetrical short
circuits current on the LV side with the fault power being maintained on the HV
side for 3 shots of 3 seconds duration each. The test reports and certificates
older than five (5) years are not accepted.

Completed, signed and stamped Technical Schedules for "General Particulars and
Guarantees"
for Distribution
Transformers
(Oil Immersed
with Conservator,
Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) in a given format.
4.
Guarantee for Distribution Transformers
(For each Type - Oil Immersed with
Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) against design and manufacturing
defects.

Manufacturer's

Manufacturer's profile including copy of the audited balance sheet including summary of
actual assets and liabilities for a minimum three (3) financial years attested by the
concerned authorities in the manufacturer's 0 n country .a)ldjn Kuwait.

Standard Certificate, after authentication by the competent authorities.

13.
List and description of the Company's engineering plants stating the location, installed
facilities, manufacturing capacity of each and history of the company.

Details and sources of all raw materials and test certificates.

Details of manufacturing

Design calculations as and where applicable.

Production capacity.
18.
List and description of similar Distribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed
with Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) supplied by the Manufacturer
within the last 5 years indicating clearly their types, numbers, value, location and the
Owner's name and address.
19.
Certificates from Clients/Engineering Consultants of at least three Purchase Orders of
Distribution Transformers
(For each Type - Oil Immersed
with Conservator,
Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) where the manufacturer has had similar type in
reliable operation for a minimum of three (3) years, certifying that their present status is
satisfactory .
20.
List of current works giving types, numbers, value, destination of Distribution
Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed with Conservator, Hermetically Sealed
and Dry Type) and purchaser's name and address.
21.
Once the above submissions/requirements
are completed, studied & accepted,
the Manufacturer has to provide this Ministry at their own cost with one complete
sample of 1250 KVA Distribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed
with Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) for trying out in the network
for a period of one (1) complete year.
