EXPERIMENT-1

Rational requisite pro is a management tool for project teams who want to improve the
communication of project goals, enhance collaborative development, reduce project risk
and increase the quality of applications before deployment.
It helps in evaluating and enabling requirements to flow among the different tools used
to deliver software. Moreover, it optimizes the user experience by allowing requirements
to be worked on in the users tool of choice and ensures requirements are up to date for
everyone

Rational Software Architect


It is a modeling and development environment that uses the Unified Modeling Language
(UML) for designing architecture for C++ and Java EE (JEE) applications and web services.
Rational Software Architect is built on the Eclipse open-source software framework and
includes capabilities focused on architectural code analysis, C++, and model-driven
development (MDD) with the UML for creating applications and web services.
Rational Software Architect Design Manager extends the Rational Solution for Collaborative
Lifecycle Management to architect, design, and develop software and systems in an iterative
and collaborative way. Share designs, stay current with others, and understand downstream
impacts of design changes.
Rational Software Architect version 7.5 includes the following capabilities:
Built on Eclipse version 3.4
Supports UML version 2.1
Supports model-to-code and code-to-model transformations.
Forward transformations go from:
UML to Java
UML to C#
UML to C++
UML to EJB
UML to WSDL
UML to XSD
UML to CORBA Interface Description Language (IDL)
UML to structured query language (SQL)-based logical data models as supported by
IBM Rational Data Architect software.
Reverse transformations go from
Java to UML
C++ to UML.
.NET to UML
Includes all of the capabilities of Rational Application Developer
Enables model management for parallel development and architectural re-factoring, e.g.,
split, combine, compare and merge models and model fragments.
Provides visual construction tools to expedite software design and development

CREATING A PROJECT:
1. Go To File>New>Project.
2. Select the UML Project wizard. Click Next.
3. Enter a Project Name. ClickNext..
4. On the Create Model Step, choose category General and template Blank Package and
enter a model name.Click Finish.
5. Now you can see your UML Project with two subdirectories.The first subdirectory is
Diagrams, which will only show the UML diagrams you createorganized by the type of
diagram. The second subdirectory, Models, will show the diagrams and all the UML
objects that you create within the model.

Rational TestManager is the central console for test activity management, execution and
reporting. Built for extensibility, it supports everything from pure manual test approaches to
various automated paradigms including unit testing, functional regression testing, and
performance testing. Rational TestManager is meant to be accessed by all members of a
project team, ensuring the high visibility of test coverage information, defect trends, and
application readiness.
