Types of Camera Shots Script PDF

There are several types of camera shots defined by the size of the subject in the frame: extreme long shots capture a vast area and provide broad context; wide shots focus on the environment and set the location; long shots include a full view of subjects with some of the environment; medium shots frame subjects from the waist up; medium close-ups frame the head and upper torso; and extreme close-ups extend beyond the frame to reveal deep emotions or thoughts. The combination of different shot types in a film helps tell the story by conveying meaning, emotion, and advancing the narrative.
