These include triggering fire alarms, operating emergency exits like roller shutters, dropping fire curtains, activating smoke spill systems in the atrium and parking garage, testing pressurization and emergency lock systems in staircases, operating fire pumps and equipment in pump rooms on various floors, testing the fireman lift, magnetic door holders, smoke detectors, intercom systems, emergency switches, and generator set interchange. Contractors for fire safety, lifts, HVAC, and electricity were required to be on standby to facilitate the tests and ensure all systems function as intended in the event of an emergency.
