Theme:
“Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago.”
MECHANICS AND CRITERIA
A. JINGLE CONTEST
Mechanics:
1. Open to all Public Schools, Grades 7-12 students.
2. There shall only be one (1) entry per Division/Municipality.
3. The entries shall satisfy the following requirements:
The jingle must revolve around the theme for the 2019 NDRM;
The jingle must be in Filipino;
The jingle should be performed live in A Cappella by eight (8) to ten (10)
members;
The jingle should run from 2 minutes to a maximum of 3 minutes. Per minute
extension will be deducted with one (1) point from the total score garnered;
Manuscript of the lyrics in five copies and a CD containing the recorded jingle
should be submitted to the Regional Office/Div. Office with the letter of
endorsement stating that the contestants are the official entry signed by the
SDS/PSDS/DIC or his/her authorized representative.
4. The entries will become properties of DepEd Regional /Div. Office to be used for
advocacy and other similar activities.
5. Official judging will be based on the live performance during the set schedule. The
decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable.
6. The winner/s will be identified for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.

B. ON-THE-SPOT POSTER-MAKING
Mechanics:
1. Open to all Public Schools, Grades 7-12 students.
2. There shall only be one (1) entry per Division/Municipality.
3. The entries shall satisfy the following requirements:
The poster must revolve around the theme for the 2019 NDRM;
Entries should be drawn on the spot and the contestants should bring their own
materials and supplies;
Entries must be drawn on a 20”x30” illustration board as canvass with the name
of the participant and school pasted at the back of the board;
The poster should only be drawn using basic drawing and coloring materials
limited to crayons, oil pastels, coloring pencils, water color, poster paints and
markers (not colored pen);
Participants are given five (5) minutes to consult with their Coaches. After that,
the participants are given a maximum of (2) hours to work on the entries. No
more coach or chaperon interference is allowed during this period.
The artwork shall follow the PORTRAIT orientation. No text or mark identifying
the participant should appear on the artwork.
The theme should be part of the poster presentation.
4. The organizers shall guide the participants in the time limitations. The organizers
should also announce the following during the contest time: last one hour, last
thirty minutes, last fifteen minutes, last five minutes and last minute.
After the contest work period, all entries will be submitted to the organizers for
display.
6. The winner/s will be identified for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.
7. The decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable.
Criteria:
Overall presentation including creativity, color harmony, etc. ---------- 50%

C. ESSAY WRITING
Mechanics:
1. Open to all Public Schools, Grades 7-12 students.
2. The essay must revolve around the theme for the 2019 NDRM.
3. There shall only be one (1) entry per Division.
4. Essay piece shall be written on a paper to be provided by the organizers; Participants
are requested to bring their own black ball pen.
5. Participants are given five (5) minutes to consult with the coaches and after that, the
participants are given two (2) hours to work on their entries. No coach or chaperone
interference is allowed during this period.
6. The essay shall be written in English. Maximum word count is 2,000. Minimum word
count is 750.
7. The name of the participants and the school represented should not appear in any
part of the work. Contestants will be given reference numbers which will be used to
identify the entries.
8. Designated personnel will be monitoring the contestants during the contest period.
9. All entries must be saved using the Reference Number given as File Name and will be
submitted using Thumb Drives provided by the organizers.
10. The winner/s will be identified for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.
11. The decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable.

D. QUIZ BEE
Mechanics:
1. Open to all Public Schools Grades 7-12 students.
2. There shall only be one (1) Representative per Division.
3. The contestants will be given materials to write their answers on.
4. The quiz shall be categorized into easy, average and difficult rounds.
5. No Coach or Chaperon interference is allowed at the duration of the contest.
6. The winner/s will be identified for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.
7. Each level corresponds to points and at the end of the quiz bee, top 3 contestants
with the highest accumulated points will be identified as the winners.
8. In the event of a tie of the total accumulated points by any and/or among the top 3
contestants, a tie-breaker question/s shall be asked until winners have been
identified for the three (3) places.
9. A timer will be set to answer each question after each question has been read twice.
Contestants can answer even the question is still being read.
10. Answers shall be final and non-changeable once the GO signal to raise the answers is
released by the Quiz Master.
11. There will be Quiz Judges and TWG to manage the Quiz Bee.
12. Decisions of the judges shall be final and non-appealable
