PRESERVATION OF TREES

Trees are essential for us, people, because without them, we won't exist in this world.
Getting rid of it for our own personal interest is such an act of selfishness. Just like the cutting of such
beautiful trees in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for road widening. Those 300 trees that reaches
approximately 1 kilometer far from the road of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur adds beauty from the place.
It can also benefit those people in their vehicle who pass through the road for instead of suffering from
the extreme heat of the sun, it makes them feel relaxed and refreshed. Those branches and leaves from
the acacia and mahogany trees are the ones to block the heat from the sun, so people won't experience
the heat from the sun. But DPWH and DENR can't see the benefits from those trees, they only see it as
an object that can cause danger for the people. As what they are trying to say, trees should be 4 meters
away from the road, because if not, it can cause accidents because of the limited space of the road. But
as far from what we've seen from the video, the vehicles that passes through the road was just on a
seldom number, it doesn't look like having a traffic. Our point here is that, we can't see any reasons to
cut the trees, but if there is, then it is for the safety of the people that passes through the road. If it is for
the safety of the people we are talking, trees should not be the one to adjust for us, humans, because
they first lived here on Earth before us, even if the DPWH and DENR proposed to plant 1000 seedlings
on each trees that will be cut. Those 300 trees that has already grown should not be cut, because those
trees has already contributed on our ecosystem. Given the recent incidents in Amazon and the forest in
Sumatra, Indonesia wherein the trees there got burned. The two incidents gave us more reasons to not
do such actions that has a heavy consequence with regards to our environment, because lessening the
number of trees may cause global warming.

Considering the safety of the people living in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, we propose to ensure
the security of the place, through having street lights and traffic enforcer, to avoid complications on the

road. And instead of cutting down trees, our country must focus more on planting more instead, for the
good of our mother Earth and the future generations.

Cutting trees is not the solution for road widening, people needs more fresh airs and trees
is one of the factor that can help us. Road widening in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur can cause landslide if
ever and if they make the road wide, the trees may also be cut off because of expanding the road and
the people who passes on that street, they can't be comfortable to walk because of the heat, the trees
are very useful to people especially those trees are the one's covering the heat. According to the post of
Enna Emperor she states that "This is located in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. These trees will be chop
down for road widening. Please help us to save the trees! Spread awareness for them to find alternative
to save this precious trees". We should be resourceful in terms of our environment and let us not think
that cutting trees is the only way to make the road wide there are many ways to implement road
widening and not by cutting or chopping the trees, road widening cannot lessen the traffic, vehicles can
wait for traffic but the trees grows longer than those road traffic.

Trees help prevent water pollution. Trees reduce runoff by breaking rainfall and allowing the
water to flow down the trunk and into the earth below the tree. This prevents storm water from
carrying pollutants to the ocean. Trees is very important to us especially in our generation. Nowadays,
we are very polluted , in air, water and land how to sustain our trees if we follow our own freedom
despite among people who needs more oxygen to breathe. And also nowadays, people didn't look for
the good of others they focus on their own good and being self-centered. Cutting trees is not the
primary solution to a road widening in Molave. According to the Bible, we have the authority in
everything in this world, not authority to destroy but to nurture. Don't abuse the beauty of the nature
because nature is one of the creation created by God. God gave us the role as a caretaker to maintain
the beauty of the creation. God gave us the intellectual and free will that doesn't have in animals or any
kind of creation except to us, we must used our intellect to look for other solution for a road widening,
cutting is not the proper and critic solution. "No to cutting trees, preserve mother Earth".

The road widening project can help to improve local infrastructure and also to keep every
drivers who will pass the Cutting down trees to clear and widen roads of illegal structures and
constructions. This is the problem that the residence of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur were facing with,
and they were asking for our help to save the trees for the road widening, as it is the Presidential

Directive of the Philippine President during 4th of the State of the Nation Address. Cutting down the
trees will really affects us. We can't deny the fact that we need trees, and its a big help to us, people.
Trees releases off oxygen which we need to breadth and keep alive. Road widening is maybe for our
own good, but there seem to be more dangers brought about by the widening of our national highways.
Preserving nature is a way better then. We can't force the government to stop this, but we can suggest
any possible solution for it. that cutting trees is not the only solution to address the problem, maybe we
can just transfer the trees, and by this they may widen the road, and saved the tree. We, in ourselves
can help solve this situation. If the government continues to cut it down, we can plant please.. we
should not wait for the time that we can only see a tree inside of a museum. Love and treasure, nature..
