Drop Out Program Memo

The memorandum announces the implementation of Project FOUND (FOster and Understand the Needs of Drop Out) at Guitnangbayan Elementary School. 1. Pursuant to the Education Act of 1982 (BP Blg. 232) wherein it is stated that “The State shall provide the right of
every individual to relevant quality education regardless of sex, age, creed, socio-economic status, physical and
mental condition, racial or ethnic origin, political and other affiliation.”
Guitnangbayan Elementary School will launch an intervention program under the DORP (Dropout Reduction
program) of the Department of Education which aims to reduce the high dropout rate and improve learning
outcomes.

2. This project aims to:


•increase participation rate;
• increase retention rate;
• raise achievement level of the Students-at-Risk (STAR);
• retrieve learners who are out of school;
• increase capability of GBES to manage DORP;

3. The recipients of this project are the students-at-risk and “balik-aral” pupils from Kindergarten to Grade Six;

4. Attached herewith are the program of activities, training design, and the list of working committees for the
smooth flow of the program.

5. Immediate dissemination of this memorandum is desired and cooperation of all is highly expected.
