1.1 About ActiveScale Cloud Management
ActiveScale Cloud Management (CM) provides cloud-based, advanced system insights and analytics for
ActiveScale X100 and P100, and Active Archive object storage systems. When you’re managing explosive
data growth across diverse geographies, traditional support structures simply cannot keep up. With
ActiveScale CM, you can view all your ActiveScale systems to monitor your service level agreements and
system health. This is the way to manage petabyte-scale storage. For example, you can detect periods of
peak utilization of the object storage systems and verify the corresponding performance statistics.
Additionally, you can monitor buckets and storage capacity.
All data, except for the ActiveScale CM user information, is obtained by collecting system telemetry data.
The telemetry agent collects key system logs and metrics, encrypts them, and uploads it to the ActiveScale
CM portal.
Note: The content that you see in ActiveScale CM depends upon your persona.
The actions that you may perform depend on your role.
1.2 User interface components
The ActiveScale CM user interface is divided in two sections:
• The tool bar.
• The dashboards that contain various panels.

6.3.1.2 Usage Pattern Charts
The Usage Pattern tab contains a number of panels.
In the left panel, you find the statistics in a time series, divided between Controller and Storage Nodes. On
the right you find the issues in chronological order on the Controller Nodes and the Storage Nodes. At the
bottom of the panels you can make selections. By default the average (Avg) is displayed, but you can select
one or more specific nodes to compare against the average performance of the nodes. If the name of the
node is grayed out, the node is not displayed in the panel.
The time series panel also notifies of any issues on the nodes, indicated by orange (error) or yellow
(warning) icons. When you click an issue in the time series, the bullet turns green and the issue is displayed
in the corresponding controller or storage panel.
The zoom level of the time series chart depends on the date range you have selected at the top of the
System dashboard. In each of the time series chart, you can zoom in to a specific period. Click Reset
Zoom to return to the default zoom level.
Keep in mind that zooming in on the time series may update the scale units on the Y-axis.
For example when the Y-axis has a range of 0 to 50k and you create a selection with the lower boundary at
10k, the origin of the Y-axis then starts at 10k and not the original 0.
The time series chart displays the statistics over a period in time.
The content of the issue details panel may be graphical or textual. If the content is graphical, you can click
on the node names underneath the chart to disable (gray out) or enable (bold) the node's information.
Tip: It may occur that you have to scroll down in the details panel to view all
content.
When you open the details of an issue, click to return to the list of issues.
