Post Activity Report on Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of
Civil Defense held various online activities for the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous
Earthquake Drill (NSED) to continuously instill to the public earthquake preparedness amid the
pandemic.
Unlike the usual conduct of the NSED, OCD held a facebook live stream of the
ceremonial pressing of the button to signal the duck, cover, and hold procedure on September
10, 2020 at 2 p.m. The public was encouraged to watch the live stream and do the duck, cover,
and hold in their houses.
In support to aforementioned initiative, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Office (MDRRMO) of this municipality took a collaborative activities with different
local stakeholders. The third Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill was conducted only on
September 10, 2020 (Thursday) at exactly 2:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time) to practice the
“duck, cover, and hold” procedure. The said activities was initially steered at the Municipal
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and consequently within the
premise of compound of this municipality with the participation of all offices thereof.
