1. Personalities in Questioned Documents Examination


 Albert Sherman Osborn was the first President of the American Society of Questioned Document
Examiners.
Born in 1858 on a farm near Grass Lake, Michigan, Mr. Osborn was the second of six children. In
Grass Lake, he did the usual farm labor and attended the nearby country school. Farm life didn't
appeal to him so he attended the State College at Lansing where he became interested in the art
of penmanship. With sufficient training and practice, he felt he could become a teacher of
penmanship.

3. Kinds of Document
 Public Documents- are those which is made by the public servant during the course of
performing his duty and these documents are also documents published by the sovereign
authority and the legislature.

 Private Documents- Private documents are those documents that are prepared by a
person in his private interest and right.
o Personal letter
o Will and Testaments

 Commercial Documents- are written records of commercial transactions describing various


aspects of those transactions. They may include orders, invoices, shipping documents,
transport papers, and certificates of origin.
o Shipping documents
o Certificate of origin of goods

 Electronic Documents- An electronic document is any electronic media content that is


intended to be used in either an electronic form or as printed output. Originally, any
computer data were considered as something internal — the final data output was always
on paper.
