A create an admin roles policy
a. name the policy and assign a password also a profile must be assigned (policy-

b. verify login on the firewall management section in Putty

c. open a new browser and create a test lock in device > administrators > add

a. go to device > dynamic updates > click none next to antivirus schedule and set the

ethernet configuration
a. go to network > zones > add and name the new zone outside and set the type to
layer 3

b. go to network > interface mgmt. > add and create a new profile named ping and
response pages and set the network services to ping and response pages you will need
to repeat the following steps once more and name the next profile ping only and only
select the ping service

c. proceed to network > interfaces > ethernet 1/2 and set the name for the zone to
inside on layer 3, then go to the IPv4 tab make sure the type is set to static and add an

IP address (192.168.1.1/24) then go the advanced tab and set the management profile
to ping and response pages

d. configure ethernet 1/3 as the dmz interface on layer 3

e. go to network virtual wire and add a wire called danger and set interface1 and
interface2 to ethernet 1/4 and ethernet 1/5

D Create a virtual Router

a. go to network > virtual routers > add and add interfaces (ethernet1/1-3) and name it
lab-vr

b. login to Putty as an admin and ping the virtual router

Troubleshooting Protocol: (a protocol for fixing

equipment a software)
If problems occur with virtual routers or certain ethernet
ports refer to the operating procedure they provide
instructions for the initial setup of these features. Delete
the existing configuration, reconfigure the feature and
use Putty and the palo alto logs to ensure everything is
working as intended
