Thank you for buying Big Fish Audio's London Solo Strings.
A new version of London Solo Strings is now available for free download, adding Intel Macintosh
compatibility and a new onscreen interface as well as various fixes and enhancements.
To install London Solo Strings and receive the new features, please follow the instructions below.
If you are a new London Solo Strings user,or are installing the library on a new computer, you should
follow all steps.
If you are updating a computer which has a previous version of the library, you should begin with step
4 and continue to the end.
STEP 1: INSTALLING FROM THE DISC
Insert disc 1 into your computer and run the installer. You will be asked for your serialnumber; use
the original serial number on the sticker found in the inside of your London Solo Strings DVD box.
The installer will first install the software and then ask you where you would like to put the 3.7GB
sample content (the library). You may choose any internal or externalhard drive.
STEP 2: COPY THE SAMPLES (NKS FILES) TO YOUR LIBRARY LOCATION
Copy the two NKS files from your original DVD into the new London Solo Strings library folder. They
should sit alongside the multis and instruments folder. Once this is finished, your installation folder
should contain an instruments folder, a multis folder, and the two NKS files:
STEP 3: REGISTER THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF LONDON SOLO STRINGS
Run the included Registration Tool (found in the Applications/Big FishAudio/London Solo Strings
folder for Mac users, or Program Files/Big Fish Audio/London Solo Strings folder for PC users) and
follow its instructions to register your copy of the original version of London Solo Strings.
STEP 4: DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE AND GET A NEW SERIAL NUMBER
Visit the NI Updates page here:
http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=updates_us
Select BIG FISH AUDIO – London Solo Strings and click the Send button.
A panel will appear (shown above) with all available updates for London Solo Strings. Select the
Kontakt Player 2 update for Mac or PC, and it will begin downloading.
(You do not need to download the prior 1.1.8.3 update at all.)
In addition, you will also need to find the “Serial Number for Big Fish London Solo Strings KP2 2.2.1”
item and click the “What's This?” button next to it. This will trigger the system to generate a new
serial number unique to the new Kontakt Player 2 upgrade. This will be e-mailed to you.
STEP 5: RUN THE UPDATE INSTALLER
Run the newly downloaded update installer. It will ask you for the new serial number (the one you
requested in Step 4). The installer will write updated files to the same location as your original
installation (step 1).
The installer will also ask if you want to start the NI Service Center installation. You should click yes;
you will soon need to authorize the new version of the library, separate from the old one.
STEP 6: AUTHORIZE THE UPGRADED VERSION OF THE LIBRARY
Launch the NI Service Center (located in your Applications folder if you are a Mac user, or the
Program Files folder if you are a PC user) and follow its instructions to properly authorize the new
version of London Solo Strings.
SPECIAL NOTE
Note that the upgrade process does not remove the earlier installation of London Solo Strings. This
means that you may see the London Solo Strings plug-in in your host. This is the previous version. In
order to use the newest version, locate the Kontakt Player 2 plug-in, and the new London Solo Strings
library will be accessible from within it.
