EPISODE 1: PILOT

Episode Summary

Walter White is a 50 year old chemistry school teacher. He finds out suddenly that
he has inoperable lung cancer. Walter is worried about his family after he dies and
wants to leave behind enough money. He sees the amount of money that is siezed
by his brother in law – Hank in a drug raid. Walter believes that he can use his
chemistry knowledge to make crystal meth. So he takes on one of his former
students who is now a drug dealer – Jesse Pinkman. When Jesse tries to sell the
drugs that he and Walter made, his friend and former partner Emilio makes him
take them to the place where they made the meth where they meet Walter. Walter
poisons Emilio and his cousin Krazy8 in the RV where they make the crystal meth.

Beats

1. Wearing a gas mask yet physically choking, Walter wearing only his briefs
somehow tries to control a speeding RV with a man unconscious next to him and
two bodies on the floor of the RV in the back.
2. The RV goes off the road and gets stuck nose down in a ditch.
3. A gasping choking Walter scrambles out of the RV and catches fresh air. He is
choking, panicked and extremely frightened. We can see that something has
seriously gone wrong in the RV.
4. Nervous, panicking Walter makes a small video on his camcorder. We see that he
lives in New Mexico and he has a wife Skyler and a son Walter Jr whom he loves
very much. He tells his family that although they might learn disturbing things about
him, he had only them in his heart. Walter mentions law enforcement authorities
and we know that he has messed up big time.

5. We hear sirens from police cars closing in on this location. Walter hurriedly wears
a shirt and grabs a gun and waits for the cops to arrive with his gun pointed in the
direction they will come from.
6. Three weeks earlier Walter is established as an eminent researcher in proton
radiography who is having breathing trouble on the stepping machine. Skyler, his
wife is taking control of his diet and advises him to work less and only as much as
he is paid for. Walter's son Walter Jr is paraplegic and has cerebral palsy. He is
seen arguing with Skyler about not being on time for breakfast because they need
a new geyser for hot water. Skyler is established as outspoken and mildly
dominating with her husband and kid. It's Walters birthday and both wish him. Both
Walter and his son hate the veggie bacon. Walter has a mild cough while eating.
We can see that something might be wrong with his health. Walter and his son
have a playful father son relationship.
7. Walter drops his son to the same school where he teaches chemistry. He is seen
trying to spark curiosity among the slightly bored students in his class for the
subject of chemistry. We can see that he is passionate about chemistry and thinks
about it as fundamental to all of the cycle of life. Walter sees a student - Chad
being insolent but controls his anger. We see him as someone who gets angry but
then controls his anger and uses sarcasm instead.
8. Walter works part time at a car wash. When the car washer doesn't come in, he is
forced by the owner to move from the cash counter and wash cars instead. Walter
is unhappy about this and argues with the Mexican owner - Bodgan but then does
as he is asked because he wants to keep his job. Ironically, he ends up washing
Chad's fancy car. We can see that he is trying his best to make ends meet for his
family and also tolerates humiliation bravely when Chad and his girlfriend snigger
and laugh on seeing him wash Chad's car and take photos of him doing so.
Walter's cough is intermittent.
9. Walter drives his old Prius home and tries to bang the glove apartment door shut
a few times and then gives up. Walter’s Prius is a sharp contrast from Chad's
Chevy that he washed at the car wash.

10. Walter comes home late and sees a lot of guests because Skyler threw him a
surprise birthday party. We learn that Skyler is pregnant although her baby bump
doesn't show yet. Skyler's sister Marie is a little grumpy and doesn't seem too
happy in general. Marie's husband Hank is showing off his gun skills to other
guests. Walter Jr is seen idolizing him. Walter himself is awkward and uncertain
holding Hank's gun. Being an educator with a mild decent manner, he is poles
apart from Hank who is an aggressive and narcissist DEA agent. Walter is again
quite patient with Hank making fun of his awkwardness. Everyone ends up
watching Hank as a DEA officer on TV taking down a meth lab. Walter is stunned
seeing to see that 700k was found with the meth dealers in the DEA raid. He cannot
believe how much money is there in cooking meth. Hank tells him that meth is easy
money before the DEA busts you. Hank jokingly offers to take Walt along for a
drug bust to bring excitement in his life. While everyone laughs it off, we can see
that Walt could take up Hank on this offer someday.
11. Skyler loves discount shopping and it's clear the family is not too well off. She is
pregnant but gives Walt a hand job when he wasn't even expecting or wanting it.
We can see that Skyler is dominating and Walt is often acquiescing. Walter is
clearly disturbed about something and tired. Skyler wants him to paint the back
bedroom since she shouldn't stand on her step ladder in her pregnant condition.
12. While working at the car wash Walter suddenly collapses and is taken to the
hospital in an ambulance. Walter tries to play down his condition in the ambulance
because he doesn't have insurance. The paramedic asks Walter if he is a smoker
and we can see that the medic feels that there is something seriously wrong with
Walter's lungs.
13. After a CT scan, Walter is informed by the doctor that he has inoperable lung
cancer and a best case two years to live with chemo. Walter is numb and zoned
out with shock.
14. Skyler and Walter discuss some credit card payment of 15 dollars. Clearly, they
are short on cash. Walter does not tell Skyler anything about his discovery about
his health.

15. Walter is still numb with shock and then loses it with Bodgan at the car wash the
next day when he is asked to do wipe downs again. He abuses Bodgan, throws
things around and storms out of the car wash quitting his job most probably. All his
anger at his life situation comes out on Bodgan.
16. Walter is in his own world contemplating his condition while he idly throws
matchsticks in the pool. He remembers the conversation with Hank and calls him
to take him up on his offer of taking him along on a drug raid.
17. Walter in the back seat of Hank's car with Hank and his colleague telling him why
they think they are outside a meth lab. Walter asks how they got to know. Hank
says someone snitched that a guy who goes by the name of cap n cook actually
cooks meth here. Hank and his colleague put a wager on whether captain Cook is
a Mexican or a white guy.
18. The DEA force raids the suspected meth lab with full strength. They catch an Asian
man cooking meth red handed and take him into custody. Walt asks Hank if he
can go inside and see the actual lab. When Hank and his colleague go inside to
check first if the coast is clear, Hank is surprised to see one of his students
Pinkman hurriedly wearing his trousers and fleeing from a window on the first floor
and rolling down the roof. Pinkman sees him too and gestures to him to stay quiet.
He then runs and drives off in a car which has plates reading The Cap'n. Clearly
Pinkman is Captain Cook. Walter is shocked.
19. Walter drives to an old house where Pinkman is putting a cover on his car. Pinkman
is shocked to see him there. Walt tells him that he got his address from school. He
then tells Pinkman that he is pleasantly shocked to finding Pinkman cooking meth.
He never thought much of Pinkman and this is impressive. He asks Pinkman if
there is a lot of money in the trade. Pinkman pretends that he doesn't understand
what Walt is talking about and tells him to take a hike if he expects him to listen to
some speech about turning himself in. Walt tells him again that no-one is looking
for him yet but now that Pinkman’s partner Emilio is caught he maybe they can be
partners in the meth trade. Walter says that he knows the chemistry and Pinkman

knows the business. He further threatens him saying that it's that partnership or he
will turn Pinkman in.
20. Marie and Skyler discuss why Walt is a little quieter than usual. Skyler attributes it
to him turning 50.
21. Walter is in a lab materials shop picking up beakers, pipettes, flasks etc. in a rush.
He brings the equipment to Jesse's house. Jesse and Walter argue about
volumetric flasks and boiling flasks. Jesse wants to establish that he can cook
better and that cooking is an art which he is a master of. There is a one upmanship
attempt by both of them about the meth cooking. Walter shares his vision for
making a superior product.
22. Jesse does not want them cooking at his house. The only real place to cook is an
RV since they could be out in the boonies and be difficult to catch.
23. Walt gives Jesse 7k to get an RV. It's all the money that he has. Jesse wants to
know why Walter is doing this because it could affect him. Walter has a new
confidence about him. He tells Jesse he is doing this because he is awake and
alive.
24. Walt Jr wears a pair of jeans with Walt’s help at a clothes store. He likes the fit
though Skyler doesn't. A couple of boys in the shop make fun of Walt Jr and his
needing help in wearing his pants. Walt stops Skyler from going to the boys. While
Skyler is asking Walt Jr to ignore the boys, she sees Walt come out from the front
and stamp angrily on the boys’ leg. He dares the boy to take a go at him. Skyler
and Walt Jr are taken aback pleasantly at Walt’s transformation.
25. Walt and Jesse are in a remote place and Walt sets up lab in the RV. Walt cooks
an amazing batch of pure meth. Jesse salutes his cooking skills. He predicts that
this product will drive customers crazy.
26. Jesse takes a small sample of the product to a friend Krazy8 from whom he buys
regularly. Krazy8 blames Jesse for his cousin Emilio getting caught while Jesse
got away. Just then Emilio walks in and Krazy8 and Emilio threaten Jesse to take
them to whoever cooked that meth.

27. Emilio and Krazy8 make Jesse take them to the RV where Walt tells them that he
will sell them the meth if the price is right. Emilio recognizes Walt as being from
the DEA. They are about to shoot both Walt and Jesse but business sense prevails
on them. Walt tells them not to shoot and that he will teach them how to cook like
that.
28. Walt cooks a batch in front of Emilio and Krazy8. Walt creates an explosion and
runs out and closes the door of the RV. Both the brothers are gassed out inside.
He unties Pinkman and puts a gas mask of both of them. After that he goes back
in the RV and drives off with the two brothers clearly dead at the back.
29. We cut back again into the opening scene where Walt is expecting the cops with
a raised gun. He is frustrated. Just then he sees fire engines coming by. Jesse
stumbles out and asks Walt about the two brothers and what happened to them.
Walt explains the chemical reaction and it is clear that the brothers are poisoned.
They need to clean the scene up.
30. Walt’s drier is full of cash which is clearly proceeds from the drug sale. He can't
count there is so much money.
31. Walt crawls back to bed and Skyler tells him that she doesn't want him not talking
to him because she doesn't understand what is going on with him. Walt kisses her
and makes love to her with aggression and passion catching her by surprise, he is
a new man.

EPISODE 2 : CAT'S IN THE BAG...

Episode Summary

Walt and Jesse have two bodies in the RV when suddenly they see that Krazy8 is
alive. The body is left in the RV parked at Jesse’s house and Krazy8 is locked up
in the basement. Jesse disposes off Emilio’s body using the acid but in the bathtub
as opposed to the polyethylene container that Walt had asked him to get. The acid
makes a hole in the bathtub and the floor below. Walter tells Skyler that Jesse sells
him marijuana when she grows suspicious of a phone call.

Beats

1. Walter finishes his rough intercourse with Skyler and goes to the bathroom to clean up.
In the mirror, he examines himself.
2. Twelve hours before, a pants-less Walter and a black-eyed Jesse hire a nonplussed
tow truck driver to pull the RV out of the ditch.
3. After that, they agree to dissolve their criminal alliance as soon as Emilio and Krazy-
8's bodies are dealt with.
4. However, a sound alerts them to the notion that one of the "dead" men isn't dead when
Walter finally gets the rusty RV's engine to turn over.
5. Walter wakes up naked on his bathroom floor the following day.
6. When Jesse, posing as a telemarketer, calls Walter's residence, his breakfast with his
family is disrupted. When Walt finds privacy, Jesse demands that Walter help him out
in dealing with Krazy-8 and disposing of Emilio's body. Walt informs Jesse that he will
not be able to join them until after work.
7. Skyler attempts to trace the call after Walter departs for school and hears Jesse's
absurd voicemail message, which informs her that Walter was not speaking with a
telemarketer.

8. Walter mishears a pupil asking about the "murder" rather than the "midterm" at school.
9. Walter raids the chemistry supply closet for hydrofluoric acid after class.
10. Jesse, on the other hand, hears a noise coming from the RV. When he glances out
his window, the vehicle's door is wide open, and Krazy-8 is nowhere to be seen.
11.Walter stumbles upon an injured Krazy-8 walking down the middle of a suburban street
while driving to Jesse's house in his Pontiac Aztek. Walter motions him toward the car,
but Krazy-8 hears his voice and tries to flee, only to pass out after colliding with a tree.
Walter puts the drug dealer in his vehicle while he is unconscious.
12. At her home, Skyler searches the web for Jesse and comes across one of his social
media sites.
13. Meanwhile, Walter returns with unconscious Krazy-8 to Jesse's house, where he is
taken to the basement and chained to a pole with a bicycle lock around his neck.
14. After that, Walter and Jesse dispute over what to do next. The disposal of Emilio's
body and the destruction of the proof are their top priorities. Walter advises that they
decompose the corpse with hydrofluoric acid. They also agree that Krazy-8 must be
eliminated.
15. To determine who will do what, the two toss a coin. Jesse wins the coin toss and
chooses to dispose of Emilio's body; therefore, Walter is tasked with killing Krazy-8.
16. Walter instructs Jesse to get a specific plastic bin to dispose of the body properly.
However, when Jesse goes to a home supply store, he can't find one big enough for
the body.
17. Walter, hesitant to murder Krazy-8 in Jesse's house, instead serves him a sandwich
and provides makeshift amenities.
18. Walter smokes Jesse's marijuana to get some relief from his stress. Jesse arrives
home and enquires about the murder.
19. Walt, after promising to take care of Krazy-8 the next day, heads to the hospital to
see Skyler for her ultrasound.
20. The couple learns that they are expecting a girl. Following that, Skyler confronts
Walter about his relationship with Jesse. Walter falsely confesses that Jesse is his

marijuana dealer and urges his wife to "climb out of my ass" in an attempt to hide the
truth.
21. As Jesse retrieves Emilio's body from the RV, Walter attempts to keep his secrets
hidden at work.
22. Skyler appears at his front gate as he drags the body across the driveway. Jesse
hurriedly blocks the way so she can't see the body. Skyler informs Jesse that her
brother works for the Drug Enforcement Administration and urges Jessie not to sell
marijuana to her husband.
23. Jesse drags Emilio's body up to his second-floor bathroom after she leaves, donning
a gas mask and attempting to dissolve the body in the bathtub with hydrofluoric acid.
24. Jesse informs Walter of Skyler's visit and that he dissolved Emilio's body in the
bathtub without having to buy the plastic container when he returns to Jesse's house.
Walter rushes into the corridor beneath the upstairs bathroom, terrified. A scalding
liquid can be seen oozing through the floor from the ceiling. The ceiling suddenly falls,
releasing a torrent of gore and a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and Emilio's half-dissolved
remains.
Walter turns to Jesse and explains why he requested a plastic container: hydrofluoric acid
dissolves all materials except plastic. Krazy-8 notices a developing puddle of acidic
fluid trickling down the cellar floor in the basement.
25. Two Native American children are kicking a ball around in the desert near their camp
when one of them picks up Walter's discarded gas mask.

EPISODE 3 : ...AND THE BAG'S IN THE RIVER

Episode Summary

Walt is confused about killing Krazy8. He shares with Krazy8 that he has lung
cancer. Walter almost makes up his mind to free Krazy8 but then kills him when
he realizes that Krazy8 was concealing a piece of glass as a weapon. The same
night, Walter tells Skyler that he has something to tell her.

Beats

1. The gruesome picture of Walt and Jesse washing up Emilio's dissolving remnants
transports Walt back to his days as a graduate student.
2. In a flashback, Walter and a female lab partner are analysing the human body's
chemical composition. Walter wonders that there must be more to a human being than
that after learning that just 99 percent of the body's makeup can be explained
chemically.
3. In the present, Walter flushes a bloody bucketful down the toilet.
4. Skyler and Junior are painting the baby's new room while Marie looks on. Junior's
phone rings and he walks away. Skyler tells Marie that she's writing a narrative
featuring a stoner character and asks her about weed after learning from Walt that he's
been consuming marijuana. Marie deduces from the question that Junior is a marijuana
user. Skyler claims she's merely referring to a fictional persona, but Marie is sceptical.
5. Jesse sneaks into the bathroom at his home to smoke meth.
6. Krazy-8, who is still bound to the pipe in the basement, startles Walter by addressing
him by name and sharing personal information that Jesse has evidently informed him.
7. Walter storms up to the upstairs bathroom, enraged, to confront Jesse, who is high and
won't let him in. Walter slams the door open. A struggle ensues over Jesse's bag of
meth, which Walter tosses out the window. While chasing Jesse downstairs, Walt has

a coughing fit and barely recovers in time to grab him before he drives away in his car.
Jesse departs as Walter says there's more work to be done.
8. In the middle of a narcotics arrest, Marie calls Hank, worried that Junior is smoking
cannabis and that Hank needs to scare him to set him straight.
9. Hank drives Walter Junior to "The Crystal Palace," a local hotel frequented by meth
heads and prostitutes despite his apparent reluctance. Disgusted by Wendy, Hank
threatens to arrest her the next time they cross paths.
10. Wendy staggers into a motel room, where she meets Jesse and has intercourse with
him.
11.Walter, sitting on the toilet in Jesse's bathroom, scribbles down the pros and cons of
killing Krazy-8. He makes various arguments in favour of not killing Krazy-8y, whereas
the only reason under the "Kill Him" column being, "He'll kill your entire family if you let
him go."
12. When Walt phones Skyler to say he's running late at the car wash, he discovers she
already knows he's been fired. Walter is told to spend the night wherever he is by an
enraged Skyler.
13. Walter prepares a sandwich for Krazy-8, but he collapses on the basement floor,
smashing the plate while delivering it.
14. Walter tells Krazy-8 that he has lung cancer after regaining consciousness, collects
up the plate shards, and goes to make another sandwich.
15. When he returns, he attempts to get to know Krazy-8, who informs him that doing so
will not make killing him any easier. Walter says that he's looking for an excuse to let
Krazy-8 off the hook. Krazy-8 talks about being the son of a local furniture store owner
whose advertisements broadcast on late-night television, and the two appear to bond.
Walt remembers buying Junior a crib from the same retailer. When Walter admits to
Krazy-8 that he hasn't informed his family about his cancer diagnosis, Krazy-8 deduces
that Walter is cooking meth to provide for his family. After offering to write Walt a
cheque, Krazy-8 says that he isn't cut out for murder. Krazy-8 is relieved when Walt
leaves to retrieve the key to the bike lock.

16. Walt obtains the key, but an epiphany pushes him to reassemble the fractured plate;
he notices that a sizable knife-shaped shard is missing.
17. Back downstairs, Krazy-8 stands quietly. As Walter approaches, he motions his
hostage to turn around so he can insert the key into the lock. As Walter grasps the
lock, he asks Krazy-8 if he's going to stab him with the shard once set free. Krazy-8
stabs backward violently, and Walter strangles him by pulling hard on the lock. While
flailing wildly, Krazy-8 manages to stab Walter in the leg before dying. Walter weeps
as he dies, apologizing to Krazy-8.
18. Jesse gets home the next morning to discover Krazy-8 gone from the basement, and
the bike lock has been left behind.
19. Meanwhile, in the desert, the DEA discovers Walter and Jesse's cook site. Hank and
Gomez soon concoct a scenario where a mobile meth lab caught fire, and the
occupants fled after putting it out. Krazy-8's low-rider car, on the other hand, has been
abandoned. Hank is perplexed until he discovers meth under the stereo.
20. Walter sits in his Aztek on the shoulder of a highway bridge, continuing his memory
of explaining human chemistry to his lab buddy.
21. When Walter returns home, he discovers Skyler sobbing in their bedroom. He then
informs her that he has to tell her something, hinting at his lung cancer diagnosis.

EPISODE 4: CANCER MAN

Episode Summary

Walter’s product starts selling like hot cakes. Walter tells his son and other family
members that he has cancer. Jesse visits his family and has to leave his parents’
house when he takes the fall for his brother’s marijuana.

Beats

1. Hank names an operation as “icebreaker” but people make fun of it as icebreaker even
means the breath mints. So, he changes the name to “Operation TBD”. They take out
a picture of Domingo Galorado Molina, who’s missing and needs to be found whom
they presume is preferably dead. Then they find out that his last conversation has
been with his cousin Emilio Koyama. Then one officer asks if Emilio has been found
or is he taking his brother’s revenge or if he’s missing too. Hank agrees to be it as a
possibility because they found 2-gram meth which has been given for testing in the
lab. He says that the meth hasn’t been brought from Mexico but has been made right
here in this city. They find an abandoned car at the cook site and find one of the gas
helmets which they are sending to Quantico for testing if it’s the same meth they found
earlier. He further alarms the officers to be on notice as there are some new players
in town who are yet unknown to them but they are sure that they are extremely high
skilled.
2. There’s a barbeque party at Walter’s house which Walter, Skyler, Walter Jr., Marie and
Hank attended. In the party, with everyone around, Walter talks about the sweet
relationship between him and his wife. After hearing Walter speak such nice stuff
about them, Skyler gets emotional and starts crying. Then, Marie asks her the reason
behind her weeping. Skyler tells her to ask Walter and leaves. Then Walter tells her
that she has found about his lung cancer which he was trying to hide for over a month.

3. In the night, Walter Jr. is sitting quietly in his bedroom, listening to songs but tears up
after remembering about his father’s condition.
4. In the living room, Walter, Skyler, Marie and Hank are hanging out. Hank asks Walter
why didn’t he tell anyone about the cancer and how did it happen to him when he
doesn’t even smoke. Skyler says that it must have started 20 years ago as he worked
in the lab and was around different gases all the time. Marie asks Walt about his
further decision and suggests to find an oncology dream team and assures him that
there are many good doctors to treat cancer. Skyler becomes very happy to have
found some hopes. Skyler and Marie leaves and go inside. Hanks assures Walt that
no matter what the result comes, he’d always look after his family.
5. At Pinkman’s house, one of his friends notices a hole in the passage and when he asks
about it, he says it has been damaged a bit. Then the other friend suggests his father
can fix it as he is a contractor. His friend asks him about his friend Emilio been caught
and his new supplier for drugs. Then he says that he’s made his own this time. And
says that it is all chemically made and says it’s awesome. Then he says he’s joking
when his friends decide to leave and offers them the pot.
6. In the morning, Pinkman’s smoking drugs and thinks he saw two men with a big knife
and a bomb coming towards his house. He gets scared and hides the packet in his
pant’s pocket and quietly runs. But in reality, there were two school children coming
towards his house to give a Christmas invitation to him but leaves it on the door as
he has already run away.
7. In the bathroom, Walt’s applying medicine to his wound on the foot from the fight with
Domingo earlier. In the living room, Skyler’s making a list of the best cancer doctors
in town. Walter comes out. She tells him that they’re going to meet a doctor on Friday
and he’s fees are 5000$. Walt refuses to go because it’s a lot to pay. Skyler says that
she’ll take the money from Hank as usual. Walter refuses and tells her he’ll try to
arrange it himself.

8. Walt was trying to remove the money which he hid in his bedroom’s AC. Walter Jr.
catches him in the act and tells him he’s been acting a lot weird lately and leaves.

9. Walter was driving and hears police’s siren and gets scared and pulls out but then sees
the car go ahead. He was relived and laughs on himself.
10. In the hospital’s parking Walt sees a car with a nameplate” KIN WIN”. In the hospital,
while standing in the que to pay oncology fees, he sees a man with a very bad attitude
and didn’t respect women and gets very angry. He pays his fees when his number
comes and leaves.
11. Pinkman comes to his parent’s house. His family hears a noise in the garden and
comes out to see where they see him. Pinkman comes in and goes to his room to
sleep and directly wakes up the next evening.
12. In the evening, Pinkman’s helping his mother in the dining room.
13. Walt comes in the college lab and sees his son sitting in there. He asks him why didn’t
he take the bus. He replies that he had some work. Walt says he’ll finish in work in 5-
10 mins and then they’re good to go.
14. Pinkman’s appreciating his little brother, Jake in his room for all his achievements.
15. In the night, Pinkman’s trying to sleep in his room but couldn’t so he looks into some
of his old books and things from his box. His phone rings, his friend, the one who
spotted the hole in the ceiling calls to tell him that the drugs that he made were sweet
and asks him if he can make more of it because some people are willing to buy the
entire stock.
16. In the morning, Walt again removes his money from the AC. The doorbell rings.
Pinkman comes and Walt asks why he is here. Pinkman says that some of my friends
liked our stuff and are asking for more so he asks him if he could make more of it.
Then Walt gets angry and tells him and pushes him to leave and tells him not to ever
come back here again. Pinkman says that he smokes but he came there for Walt
because he needed the money so he throws the money on Walt’s face and leaves.
Walt becomes proud of himself and picks up the money.
17. Walt and Skyler are talking with the doctor in the appointment. The doctor says that
there’s no denying that its very serious. Skyler gets scared a bit. Doctor says that
there are still some possibilities to save him by giving him the best medicines and
chemotherapy. This gives Skyler some hopes.

18. A maid while cleaning his room, finds a packet of drugs and hands it to his parents.
His parents tell him that they had already warned him before to quit it but he didn’t so
they ask him to leave. He leaves.
19. Walt’s in his home. Skyler tells him that we should start the best treatments on him.
The Walt says that 90000$ is a less amount. Then Skyler tells him not to worry about
the money. Then Walt tells her that if the treatment doesn’t go well, he doesn’t want
to die with all that debt on them. Then Walter Jr. tells him to give up everything and
die.
20. Walt heads out. He starts coughing so he pulls his car aside and coughs. He then
sees a car with the number plate” KIN WIN” and sees the same man who
disrespected women. He gets out of his car, takes a mob when he sees the men in a
store and open the car’s bonnet and rubs the wet mob so much the engine set the
whole car on fire. He leaves silently.

EPISODE 5 : GRAY MATTER

Episode Summary

Skyler stages an intervention to persuade Walt to accept his former research partner
Elliott’s offer of paying for the chemotherapy treatment. Jesse, on failing to get a decent
job, tries to cook meth on his own but fails to produce a good quality product.

Beat Sheet

1. Jesse goes for an interview expecting to be hired for a sales job. The interviewer
tells him that he doesn’t qualify for a sales position, he offers him work as a human
billboard. Jesse is frustrated and storms out of the interview.
2. On the way out, he is called out by Badger, who is working as a human billboard
for the same company. They are smoking a joint on the corner of a street. Badger
asks Jesse to arrange some meth for him. Jesse informs him of the retirement from
the meth business, owing to a fallout with his partner and limited availability of
Pseudoephedrine. Badger assures to arrange for Pseudoephedrine and offers to
be Jesse’s partner.
3. Jesse goes back to his car and looks at Badger in action, working as a human
billboard. Picks up the marked newspaper classified job ads and puts back in
exasperation. Goes out of the car in the direction of Badger.
4. Walt and Skyler are driving to Elliott’s birthday party. Walt complains about the gift
he bought and doesn’t want to go. Skyler persuades him to comply as they need
money.
5. Skyler in the blue dress feels out of place with guests wearing beige. Walt also
feels a bit embarrassed by his small gift on seeing big gifts given by others. A lady
collects Walt’s gift.

6. Walt and Skyler meet Elliott and Gretchen. They exchange pleasantries, after
which Skyler informs them of the baby being a girl. Walt congratulates them on
securing a patent and speaks highly of their company. A guest calls Elliott and they
leave to attend to other guests.
7. Walt enters Elliott’s huge library and looks at Gray Matter’s published papers and
accomplishments on the wall. He is in awe and a bit envious of seeing the place.
He starts coughing, composes himself, and leaves the library.
8. Walt sees Skyler talking to Elliott. He bumps into an old college mate named Farley
at Caltech. He gives an elaborate account of Walt’s genius in crystallography to
his friends. On Farley’s insistence, Walt informs them about founding Gray Matter
Technologies with Elliott in grad school and leaving the company to gravitate
towards an academic career. On being asked the name of the university, he
embarrassingly takes a sip of champagne.
9. Elliott is opening the gifts in front of guests, one of which happens to be a
Stratocaster. Walt and Skyler feel embarrassed about their small gift. Elliott opens
Walt’s gift and gets emotional about finding it to be a noodle pack that they used
to eat during their college days. He appreciates the gift.
10. Elliott and Walt are reliving their old college memories. Elliott offers Walt to join his
company. Walt is hesitant to accept because of personal issues, but Elliott assures
him of providing the best health insurance. Walt shifts his gaze to Skyler, realizing
that his wife has told Elliott of his cancer and lack of funds.
11. Walt and Skyler are leaving the party. They are waiting for the valet to bring their
car. Walt is upset with Skyler for telling Elliott about his cancer. He informs Skyler
of his refusal to accept Elliott’s charity disguised as a job offer. Skyler doesn’t
understand the reason for the refusal. They sit in the car and leave.
12. Walt, Skyler, and their son are having breakfast at home. Walt still is pissed at
Skyler but doesn’t say anything. Walt Jr. realizes the tension between his parents
and leaves to take the bus for school. Skyler clears out the plates while Walt is
scratching the plate in anger.

13. Badger arrives at Jesse’s place with a huge bag and Jesse shows him the meth
lab in RV. He shows off his knowledge of chemistry and beakers to Badger. Badger
gives him Pseudoephedrine to cook meth. Jesse starts cooking meth alone, while
Badger simply messes around, not being of any use. The sun sets on as they are
still cooking.
14. Walt Jr. and two other teenagers are standing outside a liquor, trying to procure
beer. They collect money and Walt Jr. requests an adult man to buy beer for them.
The man turns out to be a cop, he arrests Walt Jr. and his friends run away. Walt
Jr. calls Hank, who rescues him and the officer leaves him with a warning. Hank is
upset about Walt Jr. calling him instead of Walt. They drive off.
15. They reach Walt’s home, where Skyler and Marie are already present. Skyler is
very upset with Walt Jr. and instructs him to go to his room. Hank advises Skyler
not to tell Walt about it, blaming the act on the circumstances. Hank and Marie find
out about Walt smoking weed, Skyler asks everyone to help her stage an
intervention, though doesn’t want it to look like one. She wants to convince Walt of
taking the cancer treatment.
16. It’s the next day morning and Jesse has cooked the first batch of meth. He inspects
the meth and throws it all out on finding it to be of low quality. Badger is
disappointed and scrambles for thrown-out meth. Jesse starts preparing another
batch.
17. Walt arrives home and is surprised to see everyone waiting for him. Skyler
requests him to join them.
18. Jesse inspects another batch of cooked meth but finds it again to be of bad quality.
As he is about to throw it all, Badger stops him and they start fighting. Jesse throws
red phosphorus in Badger’s eyes and throws him out of his RV. Jesse takes off in
the RV. Badger running behind futilely tries to catch it.
19. The intervention is taking place. Skyler and Walt Jr. want Walt to accept Elliott’s
offer for paying for chemotherapy. Hank at first wanted the same but changes his
view after Marie suggested Walt to choose what he feels. Skyler is furious with
Hank and Marie. Walt, having lived most of his life on autopilot, doesn’t want to

spend his last days in the hospital, and chooses not to do chemotherapy. Everyone
becomes emotional.
20. Walt wakes up and finds out Skyler is not in the bedroom. He looks at cancer and
baby books on Skyler’s bedside table, he has tears in his eyes.
21. Walt goes into the kitchen; Skyler is cleaning utensils. He holds her from behind
and agrees to have the treatment. Both of them get very emotional and hug each
other.
22. Walt is waiting with his son in the doctor’s office. Skyler informs that payments
need to be made by credit card, which will be taken care of later by Elliott’s checks.
Walt assures her that he will take care of it. Walt goes inside and tests are done
on him.
23. Walt goes to Jesse’s home. He is in the car and gets a call from Gretchen. She
offers her sympathy for Walt’s cancer and both are emotional. She wants Walt to
accept the money and doubts their history to be the reason for his refusal. Walt
lies about insurance covering all the medical expenses. Gretchen believes him and
he hangs up the call.
24. An emotional Walt enters Jesse’s home. He is in his backyard, hiding the beakers,
and is agitated to see Walt. Walt clarifies his intention of wanting to cook meth
again.

EPISODE 6 : CRAZY HANDFUL OF NOTHIN

Episode Summary

Walt lands Jesse in trouble by forcing him to find a wholesaler to sell the drugs to pay off
his mounting medical expenses. Jesse gets badly beaten, but in the end, Walt
successfully cuts the deal with the wholesaler. Hank gets to know that equipment from
Walt’s chemistry lab is possibly being used to cook meth.

Beat Sheet

1. The scene starts with light from bullet holes illuminating the darkened RV. Walt
enters the RV with his setup for cooking meth and looks at the messed-up condition
inside RV. He lays ground rules where he will be in charge of cooking and Jesse
will take care of the selling part. Moreover, he doesn’t want any violence or
bloodshed in the future, Jesse agrees. There are alternate scenes in the middle,
bald Walt with a bleeding nose has a bag in hand, intense music plays in the
background, motorcyclists and other people gathered seem confused. It seems
like there has been an incident of some kind.
2. Walt is getting his chemotherapy done and Skyler is supporting with her presence.
Walt doesn’t want Skyler there and she agrees to leave. Walt lies to Skyler, saying
that he had received Elliott’s check for bill payment last week. Walt assures Skyler
of handling the finances, she leaves.
3. Walt writes a check of $1,900 for paying the chemotherapy session and asks the
receptionist to not deposit the check until Monday. The receptionist agrees, Walt
leaves
4. Walt is teaching his chemistry class at the school, students look bored. He is
teaching them rapid chemical reactions. He doesn’t feel well and leaves the class.

5. In the school washroom, Walt is puking. The school cleaner, Hugo, offers to clean
on his behalf. Walt thanks him.
6. Walt, Skyler, and Walter Jr. are in the cancer support group. Skyler raises her
concerns for Walt’s unknown escapades in the afternoon leading to him coming
late from work, Walter Jr. has the same concern. Walt assures that he likes to be
alone, goes for walks in nature sometimes, and finds it therapeutic.
7. Walt is cooking meth in the middle of the desert in RV, he starts coughing
profusely, rushes out of RV for air, and falls to the ground. He removes his gloves,
apron, and unzips the upper chain of the protective suit to get air. Jesse finds out
that Walt has stage 3A cancer, he is not happy for this reason. He realizes that
Walt is cooking meth to leave money for his family to survive after his death. Walt
asks Jesse to finish cooking the batch, as he will not be able to do it. Jesse goes
inside the RV and starts finishing the batch.
8. Hank meets his partner Gomez at a parking lot. Gomez hands over an enveloped
evidence previously found at the meth cook site, Hank finds a respirator inside with
a lab report. They get to know that the respirator has been stolen from Walt’s
school.
9. Jesse starts selling the meth in small quantities at night to customers at different
places.
10. In the desert, Walt waits for Jesse, he arrives. Jesse hands over a phone and
$1,300 to Walt, informs him that he sold an ounce. Walt is livid and wants Jesse
to look for ways to sell in bulk. Walt wants Jesse to do a deal with Tuco, the new
drug distributor. Jesse warns him about the danger of this proposition, but Walt is
adamant.
11. Walt undergoes another chemotherapy session, writes a check, and asks to wait
till Monday again.
12. At the school, Walt is again puking profusely in the washroom. Hugo sees his
condition, offers a gum, and proceeds to clean.

13. Hank visits Walt in the school, enquires about the respirator with Walt’s school
label found previously at one of the meth-cooking sites near the car of his snitch.
Walt denies recognizing it and also denies knowing about any missing respirator.
Hank tallies the inventory list with equipment in the chemistry lab, finds out another
respirator and some beakers to be missing. Walt receives Jesse’s call; he informs
Walt that he is about to sell a pound of meth to Tuco with the help of his friend
Skinny Pete. Walt lies about the call being from his doctor. Hank wants Walt to be
watchful, not to attract suspicion onto himself, both laugh at this prospect.
14. Jesse and Skinny Pete go to cut a deal with Tuco at his nest. Jesse is a bit afraid.
Tuco looks like a fierce-looking man, has a knife in his hand as they enter. On
Skinny Pete’s introduction, Jesse offers the crystal meth to Tuco for inspection.
Tuco asks Jesse to take the hit first and then takes himself, he loves the quality of
meth. Tuco agrees to the deal of 35k dollars for a pound but wants to pay the
money later. Jesse wants the money upfront, but Tuco doesn’t agree, Jesse tries
to run away with the meth but is caught by Tuco’s men. The environment gets
tensed and Tuco draws 35k from his safe and puts it in the bag. He offers the bag
to Jesse, who tries to take the bag, Tuco beats him mercilessly with the bag of
money. Jesse starts bleeding from the mouth. Tuco yells that nobody other than
him can move meth in South Valley.
15. Hank arrests Hugo at the school based on his background. Walt and Walter Jr.
see Hank arresting Hugo in the school parking lot.
16. At Walt’s home, Walt tries to reach Jesse on call as he has not heard anything
from him and asks him to call him back as a voice message. Walt and Hank’s
family are playing the game of poker. Walt informs everyone that he will be getting
some weeks off from the work. Hank tells he arrested Hugo on suspicion of him
stealing the chemistry lab equipment for meth. They found out he has a bad
background and is a pothead but hasn’t stolen the lab equipment. Hank informs
Hugo is going to lose his job and will be in jail for a couple of months. Hank thinks
of Walt as a horrible liar, but Walt surprises him by winning the poker hand by
bluffing him.

17. Walt notices hair fall as he takes the shower. After the shower, he again tries to
reach Jesse on phone, but somebody else picks up and tells him that Jesse is out
and is in hospital.

18. Walt reaches the hospital; he sees that Jesse has been badly hurt and has a neck
brace. Skinny Pete narrates how Tuco badly messed up his partner. Walt asks
Skinny Pete to tell him everything about Tuco.
19. At home, Walt, seeing his receding hairline, shaves off his head. Skyler is shocked
to see the bald Walt, while Walter Jr. appreciates his dad’s badass look.
20. Walt goes to Tuco’s nest with a bag, which seems meth, for a meeting with him.
He demands 50k dollars from Tuco for previously stolen one-pound meth and
Jesse’s pain. Tuco extinguishes the lighted cigarette on his tongue as he tries to
remember the partner. Tuco assumes Walt to be a fool to have brought more meth
to him, even after the previous ordeal of his partner. Walt destroys his assumption
by causing an explosion with just one piece of meth, which was actually fulminated
mercury, as he later reveals. Everyone gets distorted and Walt threatens to cause
an even bigger explosion with the whole bag. Tuco agrees to pay $50k and cuts a
deal for two pounds of meth next week, with the condition of money upfront.
21. Walt with the money bag and his nose bleeding sits in his car. He looks at the
money and experiences both a sigh of relief and excitement at the same time. He
drives off with a slightly evil smile on his face.

EPISODE 7 : A NO-ROUGH-STUFF-TYPE DEAL

Episode Summary

Skyler decides to return the Tiara that Marie gifted her and is detained by the store
because the Tiara was stolen from the store by Marie. Walter devises a new chemistry
for the meth using methylamine which they steal from a factory. Tuco loves the new
product and wants more of it. Walt and Jesse see Tuco bashing up his crony and
realise how dangerous their game has become.

Beats

1. DEA officers brief a bunch of parents at School about their seriousness in cracking
down on meth. Some lab equipment has been stolen from school and they are
investigating the theft. Parents are irate with school authorities for employing a
janitor who had a past record and was caught with some marijuana and for not
giving them any information on the theft of lab equipment. DEA officers repeatedly
say that they do not have any evidence or leads on the theft yet. Walt surprises
Skyler by slipping his hand up her thigh and skirt. We don't know if Walt is
purposely doing this to get Skyler to zone out so that she does not catch any details
of the briefing. He starts giving her a hand job now and Skyler, though initially
shocked, can't stop herself from enjoying the surprise. Parents want the security
at school to be stepped up for the safety of their children.
2. Walt is thanked by the school authorities for being there in spite of being on medical
leave. He tells everyone the inventory of the missing equipment. Walt and Skyler
have mind-blowing sex in the car outside school. Skyler can’t believe the new man
that Walt has become.
3. Jesse's agent shows the house to prospects. All obvious traces of the disposal of
Emilio and Krazy8’s bodies have been wiped out and hurried repairs have been
done.

4. Walt visits Jesse's house and is directed by his agent to the RV. Jesse's is
bandaged. Walt tells Jesse that he visited Tuco and struck a deal with him. Jesse
can't understand how Walt could make a deal with Tuco after the way he hurt
Jesse. Walt tries to drill business sense into Jesse and gives him his share of the
advance. But then Jesse makes him aware that the pseudo is the bottleneck to
scaling up the meth production. It's impossible to source this volume of pseudo.
5. Walt and Skyler visit Walt’s oncologist. Skyler tells the doctor about how Walt is all
charged up sexually these days and thinks that the chemo must be really working
for him to feel so good. The doctor is not so sure yet. When Sky asks him about
alternative medicine, he tells her that he doesn't know if it helps but he has no
problem in them trying it.
6. Walt and Jesse wait for Tuco at a junkyard which is an unusual place for a meeting.
Jesse says he would have preferred a public place like a mall or Taco Cabeza.
7. Tuco's car approaches them and Jesse panics. Walt puts on a brave front. Tuco
apologizes to Jesse for messing him up. Walt gives him 0.5 pounds instead of the
2 pounds that he had promised him. Tuco is enraged. Further, Walt asks him to
pay an advance of 70k. Taken aback with Walt’s chutzpah, Tuco gives him a loan
of 52k on a high interest rate and tells him that he wants the 2 pounds next Friday
without any excuses. Walt asks Tuco if he can handle 4 pounds. Tuco intimidates
them and throws them the money as a sign that he is ready but that he won't take
shit.
8. Back at Jesse's house, Walt makes a plan to make meth without pseudo. He hands
Jesse a new shopping list of equipment and chemicals. Jesse doesn't understand
half the stuff and refuses to go. Walt pumps up Jesse with a pep talk of believing
in himself.
9. Skyler's baby shower happens at home. Walt Jr records a video where Marie
introduces the family to the soon to be newborn. Skyler tells the upcoming newborn
that her name will be Holly. Everyone including Hank and Walt give their personal
welcome messages to Holly. Skyler opens the gifts one by one and thanks each

guest. Marie gives Skyler a jaw dropping expensive Tiara. Skyler is really taken
aback by this expensive gift from Marie.
10. Hank is bored and asks Walt if he has something stiffer to drink. The men move
out to the poolside and share some scotch and smoke Cuban cigars. Walt wonders
if Cuban cigars are not contraband. Hank tells him that forbidden fruit is sweet.
There is a hint of underlying tension in the conversation and we wonder if Hank
knows about Walt's new line of work. The men speak in metaphors about legality
and illegality. Walt opines that something being legal or illegal is arbitrary. Hank
tells him stories of men in lockup and how meth used to be legal at one time. The
warning is not lost on Walter.
11. Walt shows Skyler his research on a lodge in New Mexico for alternative healing
where he wants to go for the weekend. Skyler is fine with that. She tells Walt about
the Tiara that Marie gifted. She knows the place where Marie must have gotten the
gift from and that it must be at least 500 dollars. She wants to return that gift to the
store.
12. Walt comes to Jesse’s place with his bag for the weekend cookout. Jesse shows
him the shopping products. But he couldn't source the methylamine. He tells Walt
that some professional thieves will steal the methylamine from a chemical factory
for 10k. Jesse is out of money though. Walt chances on an old toy sketchpad in
the garage and hits on an idea to steal the methylamine themselves. He opens up
the sketchpads and removes the thermite which can cut through steel doors and
locks. Walt tells Jesse that this was used in WW2 to take down one of the deadliest
guns that the Germans had.
13. Skyler returns the Tiara to the store and gets detained by the store owner and
security. This Tiara was stolen from the store by a tall thin blond woman who
matches Marie's description in Skyler’s head. Skyler refuses to give them Marie's
name and threatens the store about detaining a pregnant woman. She then fakes
pain and somehow escapes from the store. The store lets her go because her act
is so convincing. As she comes out, she tries calling Marie repeatedly and leaves
a message on her voicemail.

14. Walt and Jesse break into the chemical factory at night. After locking the lone guard
in the restroom, they blow open the steel door with thermite and drag out a full
drum of methylamine.
15. The RV doesn't start and they have to do the cooking in Jessie's basement.
Jessie's agent organizes an open house at the same time and the house has a lot
of prospective buyers checking it out. The buyers check out the house while the
duo cook meth with the new chemistry that Walter devised. Jesse somehow holds
the door to prevent buyers from coming into the basement.
16. Marie is shopping again. Skyler accosts her with her knowledge of her stealing the
Tiara from Zacchary’s and her humiliation when she went to return the Tiara.
Skyler wants to know why Marie shoplifts. Marie denies any guilt point blank.
Skyler leaves angrily.
17. Some buyers at the open house sniff the chemical fumes in the house. When a
nosy buyer tries to force his way into the basement, Jesse comes out shouting and
tells everyone to get lost and that the house is not on sale.
18. Back at the house, Skyler asks Walter about his sweat lodge experience over the
weekend. Skyler is disturbed about Marie's shoplifting ways and tells Walter about
the whole incident at Zacchary’s and then with Marie. Walt tells her that people
sometimes do crazy things for their families. Walt asks Skyler what she would do
if he ended up doing something like what Marie did. Skyler tells him that he
wouldn't want to know.
19. Walt and Jesse meet Tuco at the junkyard with 4.6 pounds of meth. The meth
looks a different blue but when Tuco tries it, it blows his mind. Tuco is on a high
and loves the new product. He beats up his sidey to pulp just to make a point to
the duo. Tuco has new found respect for Walt after trying this product. He asks the
duo to keep bringing it on and tells them to come back with more meth next week.
20. Witnessing Tuco beat his sidey to pulp, Walt and Jesse get a taste of how things
would be if things went south with Tuco. There is a moment of reflection there.
