security threats loom, the US Embassy has issued a 4-point guideline on who should
come to the airport.
t the one-week mark since the Taliban completed its takeover of the country, US
officials expressed growing concern about the threat to the evacuation from
extremist groups like ISIS in Afghanistan. Amid this grave security concern, hordes
of frantic people are arriving at Kabul airport, eager to be evacuated at the
earliest. The desperation of Afghan and foreign nationals to escape the Taliban’s
clutches have led to tragic scenes at the airport, with seven people killed in a
crush at the gates on Sunday.
In order to control crowds and ensure smooth evacuation operations, the US Embassy
in Kabul has issued an advisory detailing who should gather at the Hamid Karzai
International Airport.
