Activity 7.2

1. When you hear the word distance education what comes first into your
mind?
 Distance Education is that education still occurs even in different places.
Distance Education is perform using technological advancement to
continue educating the learners.

2. What do we mean by distance learning?


 Distance Learning is imparting knowledge and learning through online
platforms. Distance Learning refers to a learning delivery modality where
learning takes place between the teacher and the learners who are
geographically remote from each other during instruction.

3. What did you observe in your activity?


 The activity feature the different online platforms that are commonly used
in education, work, entertainment and past time.

4. Which educational online platform would you prefer the most? Why?
 I prefer the most is the Moodle. Moodle contains module, activities,
quizzes and exams. It also have a conversation, it may private or as a
group. You can send a file or link. Can be used in all subjects. Moodle is
an open source software that supports teaching and learning.

5. What do we mean by blended learning?


 Blended Learning refers to a learning delivery that combines face-to-face
with any or a mix of online distance learning, modular distance learning
and TV/Radio-based instruction.

6. What do we mean by network?


 Network are everywhere. Network can be compared on a human brain.
The cellular network is the human brain, through the cellular membrane,
human cells connect with each other in cellular networks. This structure
has a permeable boundary surrounded with ports that enable the cell to
exchange physical resources as well as information with its environment.
These network enable cells to connect with each other.

7. What are the different social networking platforms?


 Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin. Google+, Youtube, Pinterest, Instagram,
Tumblr, MySpace, Flickr and Bbo are some of the social networking
platforms.

8. Can social networking platforms be used in teaching and learning? How?


 Social Networking Platforms can be used in teaching and learning.
Although social networking platforms are design for socializing it still can
be used for delivering a lesson. Youtube is considered as social
networking platform, this website is a video-sharing where user can
upload, view and share. The teacher can use the Youtube to share
information about a certain subject or topic and the students can watch the
video to gain knowledge.

9. What do you think are the benefits of social networking platforms?


 Social Networking Platforms can benefits its user. If you are a bussiness-
minded person, you can use the social networking platforms to market
your product. If you are a students, you can use it to browse information
about school matters. Social Networking Platforms has its own benefits
that depends on how you are skilled enough to use it in a good way.
10. What are the dangers of using social networking sites?
 Social Networking Sites become dangerous if we do not know the terms of
using it. Cyberbullying, scam, fraud, plagiarism and hacking are just some
causes of social networking sites.
