 Power button - controls the computer's AC input power Table 3 on page 4.

Computer Status Power Switch

Off Press and release the Power switch to turn the computer on.

Press the Power switch to close the open programs and Windows the computer will shut down.
On Press and hold the Power switch for more than 6 seconds to immediately turn the computer off.

 

 Power light - illuminates in two colors and blinks or remains solid to indicate different states. For details refer to the
Host Computer Troubleshooting Guide For Dell T5500.
 Drive activity light - illuminates when a hard drive or CD/DVD drive is reading data from, or writing data to, the drive.
 Link integrity light - illuminates when there is a connection to an active network; off when the system is not
connected to a network.


 Link integrity light (on integrated network adapter) - illuminates in three colors to indicate different communication
speeds.
 Green indicates a good connection at 10Mbs.
 Orange indicates a good connection at 100Mbs.
 Yellow indicates a good connection at 1000Mbs.
 Off indicates that there is no connection to a network.
 Network integrity light (on integrated network adapter) - yellow blinking light indicates network activity.

When connecting any external device to your computer's panel, follow these guidelines:
 Check the documentation that accompanied the device for specific installation and configuration instructions.
 Verify you have the required device drivers before stating the installation.
 Always attach external devices while your computer is turned off. Then turn on the computer before turning on any
external devices, unless the documentation for the device specifies otherwise.

The 9-pin connector I/O port on your computer transfers data sequentially, one bit at a time. It is 16550C compatible. It
may used to connect an external device such as an AMC box (for non-DICOM). Also referred to as a COM port.
Default serial port designations:COM1 for port 1 and COM2 for port 2. You may reassign the serial port's designation in
system setup if you add an expansion card containing a serial port using this designation.
If you set the computer's serial ports to Auto in system setup and add an expansion card containing a serial port
configured to a specific designation, the computer automatically maps (assigns) the integrated ports to the appropriate
COM setting as necessary.
Before you add a card with a serial port, check the documentation that accompanied your software to ensure that the
software can be mapped to the new COM port designation.


An I/O port on your computer that transfers data eight bits at a time. It uses a 25-pin, female subminiature-D connector,
typically to connect a non-DICOM printer using the AMC-4 option. Also referred to as an LPT port.

The on-board network adapter is used to connect the computer to external devices through the Internet such as DICOM
devices, Extended Brilliance Workspace, etc.
 A yellow network activity light flashes when the computer is transmitting or receiving network data (a high volume of
network traffic may make this light appear to be in a steady ON state).
 A multi-colored network link and speed light that lights when a good connection exists between the network and the
computer. The light is green for a 10-Mbps network, orange for a 100-Mbps network, and yellow for a 1000-Mbps
network.




1. Press one end of the UTP Ethernet cable into the network 10/100/1000 LAN port adapter on your computer until the
cable snaps securely into place.
2. Connect the other end to an RJ45 jack wall plate or to an RJ45 port on a UTP concentrator or hub, depending on
your network configuration.


