CED DAY LIST OF ACTIVITIES AND GUIDELINES


1. CED Frame Making (Online)
Officer in-charge: Lei Catherine Y. Villasis (Member- Committee on Sports and Academic
Affairs)

Guidelines:
1. There shall only be one entry per section and the participants must be a qualified
student of CED-USM.
2. The concept of the frame must adhere to the theme of the CED DAY.
3. All entries must be original work of the participant, must not contain inappropriate
languages and profanity, and must exhibit a positive, inspirational message.
4. Any applications are allowed to be used by the participants.
5. The competition will start this week to give each participant enough time to
conceptualize and make their output.
6. The frames shall be submitted on September 5, 2022 at exactly 6:00 pm to the
provided GOOGLE form. Upon submitting, it must include your full name, year, major
and section. Entries should be submitted with high resolution JPEG or PNG file.
7. To ensure the originality of the entries, participants must submit a time-lapse video or
any photo taken during the duration of working their frame.
8. Any violations committed by the participants will result to 3 points each deduction from
the final score.
9. The winning piece will be used by all CEDistas as their profile picture frame.
10. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

2. CED Story (Online)


Officer in-charge: Nhordiena S. Mohamad (Member- Committee on Sports and Academic
Affairs)
Guidelines:
1. The competition is open for all CEDistas.
2. The narrative shall be written in English or Filipino language. Words should not be less
than 500 but not more than 800. If the words exceed or fall behind the said word limit, 3
points shall be deducted. Entries should be encoded, double spaced in a 12-font size
Times New Roman.
3. The topic will be about the unforgettable, meaningful or best experience of being a
CEDista.

4. The competition will start this week to give each participant enough time to
conceptualize and make their output. The output shall be submitted on September 7,
2022 to the provided GOOGLE form. Entries should be submitted in PDF format and it
must include your full name, year, major and section.
5. To ensure the originality of the entries, participants must submit a time-lapse video or
any photo taken during the duration of working their stories.
6. Any violations committed by the participants will result to 3 points each deduction from
the final score.
7. The output made by each participant will be posted in the Official Facebook page of the
CED-Local Student Government. Fifty percent of the score will come from the number
of reactions their output has received in the Facebook post and fifty percent from the
judges.
8. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

3. PEP Talk (Face to face)


Officer in-charge: Remie Delos Santos (Assistant Executive Secretary)
Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a qualified student of CED-USM. There must be one
participant coming from each major for the BSE and two participants coming from the
BEED.
2. The contestants must show and share how their major and their experiences can uplift
the people and how it is inspirational and relevant.
3. No use of foul words; the use of foul words means disqualification of the entry.
4. Participants can use Filipino or English language (Taglish is allowed).
5. Piece must be memorized and original.
6. We must adhere to the IATF health and safety protocols under the alert level 2
implemented in the province of Cotabato. There must be a maximum of 70% total
population of the students in the College of Education for the outdoor activities.
Participants must wear face masks and observe social distancing during the event
proper.
7. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

4. CED Hataw (Dance Competition) (Face to face)


Officer in-charge: Malik D. Bacana (Co-Chairman- Committee on Socio-cultural Affairs) and
Al-Qycer M. Mokamadali (Member- Committee on Public Information)
Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a qualified student of CED-USM. In each year level, there must
be one team/group composed of five to ten (5-10) members.
2. Order of performances will be based on the number they had picked prior to the
contest. The group must be at the contest area on time. Failure to come on time will
receive 2 points deduction to the total score.
3. Participation in the event is entirely at the dancers’ own risk. Performance of dangerous
choreography will not be reflected favorably in the scoring. We must adhere to the IATF
health and safety protocols under the alert level 2 implemented in the province of
Cotabato. There must be a maximum of 70% total population of the students in the
College of Education for the outdoor activities. Participants must wear face masks and
observe social distancing during the event proper.
4. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and
any harm to the performance of other groups. Props such as sharp objects, combustible
material, broken glass, confetti, live animals, oil and the like are prohibited.
5. Music may vary with the participants’ desire as long as it is not inappropriate, lewd, or
shows offensive language.
6. There is no maximum or minimum number of songs/recordings that may be used in the
dance, and may be edited to enhance choreography and personal performance.
7. The duration of the performance must be three to five (3-5) minutes, including the
entrance and exit. Any excess in time will have 3 points deduction per minute to the
total score.
8. Appropriate clothing must be observed throughout the competition.
9. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

5. Vocal Solo (Face to face)


Officer in-charge: Angel Rose S. Marco (Secretary- Committee on Sports and Academic
Affairs) and Ronel C. Ponce (Chairman-Committee on Health, Sanitation and Environment)
Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a solo contestant, and a qualified student of CED-USM. There
must be one participant in each year level. Outsiders are not allowed to join.
2. The contest consists of one round only.
3. Contestants are reminded to be at the venue at least thirty minutes before the contest
starts for technical preparations and to cast/draw lots. We must adhere to the IATF
health and safety protocols under the alert level 2 implemented in the province of
Cotabato. There must be a maximum of 70% total population of the students in the
College of Education for the outdoor activities. Participants must wear face masks and
observe social distancing during the event proper.
4. Participants shall sing one straight OPM song, either English or Filipino. Rearrangement
of song is allowed.
5. Singing shall be accompanied by a minus one only. Karaoke/Videoke and live
accompaniments are not allowed.
6. Delivery of entry has a maximum of five minutes.
7. The song chosen to be performed must not contain any vulgarity or it should be in a
manner that the fillings of any religion or community should not get hurt.
8. The contestants are expected to wear attire suitable for the event.
9. Any violations that are committed by the performer will result to 3 points each
deduction from the final score.
10. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

6. Digital Poster Making Contest (Online)


Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a qualified student of CED-USM. There must be two
participants in each year level, one from BEED and one from BSE. Outsiders are not
allowed to join.
2. Each participant should submit one entry only.
3. The poster must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme.
4. The outputs shall be submitted on September 7, 2022 at exactly 6:00 pm to the
provided GOOGLE form. Upon submitting, it must include your full name, year, major
and section. Entries should be submitted with high resolution JPEG or PNG file.
5. The artwork requires a description with a maximum of sixty words.
6. Any violations that are committed by the performer will result to 3 points each
deduction from the final score.
7. The decision of the judges will be final and irrevocable.

7. Spoken Word Poetry (Face to face)


Officer in-charge: Linang B. Baculudan (Co-chairman - Committee on Sports and Academic
Affairs)
Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a qualified student of CED-USM. There must be one
participant in each year level. Outsiders are not allowed to join.
2. The spoken word poetry piece must be an original composition, written in Filipino or
English. It must be memorized by the contestants and quote from other writers may be
used provided that it is verbally cited in the performance.
3. The contestant must wear decent attire in accordance to their piece.
4. The piece must not contain any malicious and offensive content. The piece must be
related to the theme.
5. Instruments, sounds or musical background is allowed to complement the delivery. No
deduction shall be made if the contestant opts not to have a musical background.
6. Each contestant has to submit a printed copy of the piece and each of them is given
three to five (3-5) minutes to recite or deliver his/her piece.
7. Any violations that are committed by the performer will result to 3 points each
deduction from the final score.

8. CED Alumni Success Stories (Online)


Officer in-charge: Kerby Kent Retazo (Vice Governor)
Guidelines:
1. All the guests invited to this event are alumni from the College of Education.
2. The letter of invitation will be sent to the selected guests this week.
3. Three to five alumni of the College of Education will be sending their video sharing or
talking about their successful academic experiences and endeavors that will inspire the
students who will be watching it.
4. They will be given five to ten minutes each to share a brief story or words of
encouragement to the students and the video will be posted in the Official Facebook
page of the CED-Local Student Government.

9. Mr. And Ms. CED 2022 (Face to face)


Officer in-charge: Jade T. Abuelo (Chairman-Committee on Socio-cultural Affairs), Ronel G.
Aguacito (Chairman-Committee on Public Information) and Ahlgine Biscarra (Chairman-
Committee on Students Rights and Welfare)
Guidelines:
1. The participants must be a qualified student of CED-USM. Everyone is allowed to join
the pageant and there must be one male and female representative. To those who are
interested to join the said event they need to undergo to the screening of the
candidates in accordance with the rules and guidelines to be conducted by the Faculty
and CED-LSG officers.
2. Age Requirement (at the time of the pageant): Must be eighteen years old and above
for both Male and Female contestants.
3. Must be single without children and with pleasing personality.

4. The organizing committee has the right to call the attention of the candidates in cases
of any untoward behavior that would cause disturbance of the scheduled activity.
5. The judges must not be in anyway related to any of the candidates. The judges’
decision shall be made public only on the final pageant.
6. Each contestant must observe decency in all costumes/attires. Hair color for the
candidates shall not be allowed in all categories including the pictorials.
7. The candidates must be able to attend all scheduled activities and rehearsals. Two
absences shall disqualify a candidate. Each team must determine from their section
who will be assigned to be their assistant. There will only be two assistants per team at
the backstage during the pageant.

implemented in the province of Cotabato. There must be a maximum of 70% total
population of the students in the College of Education for the outdoor activities.

proper.
9. Candidate’s number shall be provided by the CED-LSG officers. There will be a
scheduled photo shoot before the pageant. It will be held at the USM Library with Mr.
Dale Bello and Mr. Al-xander Pompong as the photographers. The photos from the
photo shoot will be posted in the Official Facebook page of the CED-Local Student
Government. Fifty percent of the score for the minor award, Mr. and Ms. Photogenic
will come from the number of reactions their photo has received in the Facebook post
and fifty percent from the judges.
10. The final pageant will be divided into seven parts:
I. Production number and presentation of the candidates
II. Presentation of Advocacy
III. Teacher’s Professional Attire
IV. Casual Attire
V. Formal Wear/ Evening gown competition
VI. Question and Answer Portion
VII. Awarding and Coronation

I. Production number and Presentation of the Candidates


a. The female candidates must wear white top (either a shirt or an off-shoulder top)
and high-waisted skinny jeans. The male candidates must wear a white polo/shirt and
denim pants.
b. They will perform a dance and after it they will introduce themselves.

III.Teacher’s Professional Attire

candidates’ Professional Attire, they can either wear a skirt (not above the knee) or
pants.

formal casual attire adhering to the team color that will be assigned to them.

b. The rank of each candidate in every category shall be multiplied with the assigned
weight in percentage in the breakdown table above.
c. The candidate earning the highest tallied and total weight shall be declared Mr. and
Ms. CED 2022, respectively. The rest will be runners-up.
d. The following Special and Major awards will be given to the candidates that garnered
the highest score each category:

h. The candidates shall provide/take care of the following:
• Production wear
• Teacher’s Professional Attire
• Casual wear
• Formal Wear/ Evening gown competition attire
• Shoes or sandals and accessories to be used during the pageant.
• Hair and makeup
