Mixed conditionals

Past condition (IF 3) – present result (IF 2)


1. If I hadn’t missed my bus, I would be in France now.
(but I missed my bus, so now I am not in France)
2. If I had slept longer, I wouldn’t be tired now.
(but I didn’t sleep long, so I am tired now)
3. Situation: She didn’ try hard, so she isn’t successful now.

4. I didn’t save any money, so this house doesn’t belong to me.

1. I don’t have any money, so I didn’t go on holiday last year.

2. My wife is very smart. That is why I wanted to marry her when we met at uni.
