Good Morning & Happy New Year everyone,
I just need a little clarity on the amount awarded for the Cooling Center...
I received the message below from LAHSA regarding the Cooling Station funding...am I understanding this correctly in
that only $105,589 was allocated and NOT an additional amount of $300,000 or is there an additional $300,000
available?
We’ve received confirmation that the total budget for the warming/cooling centers under the agency Homeless Healthcare
Los Angeles is $494,411, which is inclusive of the $300,000 that was noted in your original email. In summary, the initial
budget for the warming/cooling centers was $388,822. LAHSA received contracting authority for the initial half of that
contract for $194,411. Currently, LAHSA is pending an amendment to our funding agreement with the City for $300,000,
which includes the second half of that funding ($194,411) and the addition of $105,589 to support additional project
needs.
As soon as the amendment is executed in our funding agreement, we will add the additional funding to the agency’s
contract. We are checking into the status of its execution and will get back to you shortly when we have further updates.

I apologize for the confusion. LAHSA was initially funded $194,411 and then was funded an additional $300,000 for a total
of $494,411.00 for the program. We can correct the budget amount in a future report if the actual funding needed was an
additional $105,589.

needed. If I am understanding correctly, there is $194,411 remaining of the original award + an additional $105,589 to
reach the $300,000.
I can let the agencies know we can launch the programs ASAP....

There is an additional $300k to the $194k. However, if only $105k additional was needed, we can make the appropriate
adjustment to this budget in a future report.
