1 Research urgency/Significant
According to the World Happiness Report (Helliwell, 2022), released by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), postgraduate degree holders are
happier than their less-educated counterparts. However, undergraduate students nowadays lack interest in pursuing postgraduate studies for a variety of reasons.
One of the possible reasons is that they may not have a clear idea of their career goals and how postgraduate studies may help them to achieve those goals. As a
result, they may not see the value in pursuing further studies. This topic is chosen to examine whether postgraduate students report higher levels of happiness
compared to those who did not pursue further studies. By highlighting the potential benefits of pursuing further studies, such as increased happiness and life
satisfaction, the interview results may help to motivate undergraduate students to consider postgraduate education as a viable option for their future.
