How much screen time

should my child have?

Screen Time = TV, tablet, video games, smart phone

World Health Organization guidelines:

Babies and toddlers under two years old:

NO screen time

Children 2-5 years old:

LESS THAN one hour of daily screen time.
(Avoid hand-held devices - phones/tablets)

Children 6 years or older:

Set your own limits.

Suggested limits:
• Follow age ratings for apps/games/movies
• Use parental controls on devices to limit screen time
• No screens on school nights (unless required for homework)
• No more than 2 hours a day on non-school nights
• No screens during meals
• No screens in the bedroom
• No screens one hour before bedtime

Children on screens are not moving, exploring,

communicating, learning boundaries, developing
relationships, or participating in the real world!
Tummy Time

According to the World Health Organization

babies need at least 30 minutes of tummy time every day,
including time on the floor.
They need freedom to move to develop their motor skills.

Spend lots of time on the floor,

and increase tummy time as your baby grows.

Limit time in bouncer seats, swings, stroller,

and other devices to no more than one hour.

Kids need to move to learn!
