Acknowledgement
I want to start by giving thanks to the Lord because nothing would be possible without Him.
Also, I want to thank Ms. Chaim Cucul, my Social Studies teacher, who was incredibly helpful
with this SBA task. I would especially like to thank SJCJC for providing me with the
information I required for this study. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who took
the time to complete my survey and respond to it.

Introduction
1.) What is social media?
Social Media- The term social media refers to a computer-based technology that facilitates the
sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information through virtual networks and communities. Social
media is internet-based and gives users quick electronic communication of content, such as
personal information, documents, videos, and photos.
2.) SJCJC (St. John’s College Junior College)
St. John’s College Junior College -is a Belizean, Catholic, tertiary institution in the Jesuit
Tradition. Through its commitment to God, academic excellence, humanity, and service, SJCJC
aims to foster an atmosphere of respect, growth, and spiritual awareness that will promote the
development of multifaceted individuals who love and care for themselves and others, their
environment, and their community. They offer traditional and non-traditional students an
education that challenges the intellect and fosters the development of men and women in the
service of others.
3.) Who is Queen Elizabeth II?
Queen Elizabeth II became queen on February 6, 1952, and was crowned on June 2, 1953. She
was the longest-serving monarch in British history. The Queen's coronation in 1952, she became
the head of state in Belize, beginning her 70-year relationship with the country. Belize was a
British colony seeking independence for the first 29 years of her reign. The Queen was dedicated
to assisting the country's independence and providing protection for the people.

Statement of problem
Should the image of the late Queen Elizabeth II be removed from the Belizean Currency?
An investigation of the opinions of college students attending SJCJC.

Reason for selecting area of research.
My primary respondents are college students because they have a better interaction with social
media. They would have no hesitation in responding to my SBA question. They would be aware
of the evidence against Queen Elizabeth ll and how she is portrayed in the media. I chose this
subject because it has a significant impact on our thinking. We have all been reduced to a single
constitution; the most significant change will be a fresh start without the Queen. What will
Charles the Great do? Since the queen ruled for 77 years, what will happen now that we have a
new king and who will lead us? King Charles III will defend us like the queen did, even if
Guatemala makes a change and regains power and conquers us. There are numerous imbalances
that the queen did not complete. What will transpire next? Will he be able to defeat her power
now that she is broken? What will he do for us that we are afraid of? Will be able to enjoy the
same level of protection from him as she provided for us. Social media comes into play here
because we, as a society, need to speak out through social media and have a voice to do so. New
laws, new things, are we even staying the same way? This is our new method of communication;
basically, everyone uses it, and it has a significant impact because it is not something that
neighbors say to each other but rather something that is shared globally by multiple people. We
are intrigued to learn what will happen to the nest when we learn that our queen has passed
away. Will our currency have a new symbol and a value? The main focus of our topic would be
society's reaction to the death of our queen—would the constitution change, would people be
freed in person, would we as a nation remain orphans, and would king Charles III protect us?

Method of investigation
For data collection, the survey method was chosen. An online survey can be used for a variety of
purposes. Some of these are efficient methods for quickly gathering large amounts of
information from a large number of people. The researcher can conduct the study alone or with
the assistance of others. The researcher quickly and easily quantifies the survey results.

Data collection instrument
Dear Respondents:
I am in my final school year and was requesting you to join my SBA project by completing the
following survey questionnaire. Furthermore, we will keep your responses will be kept
confidential. Your support towards my following research will help conduct the study ideally.
Thank you very much.
Queen Elizabeth II
After becoming Queen on February 6, 1952, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953.
She attempted to make her reign more modern and sensitive to a changing public while
maintaining crown traditions as the longest-reigning monarch in British history. After gaining
independence from the United Kingdom on September 21, 1981, Belize chose to remain a
member of the British Commonwealth, with all the benefits that entails.
Yours truly,
Ciely Contreras

Procedure for collecting data.
The questionnaires were gathered on March 3, 2023.
I made the decision to speak with my fellow cousin who attends SJCJC and studies
business. In my survey, I did consider sex and age.
I obtained my questionnaire responses in a day.
I sent a text message containing the link to the people who would be answering my
survey so they could respond.
Online was where I finished gathering my data.

Analysis and Interpretation of Data
In conducting my survey, I asked if “Does social media have a major impact on the outlook of
the late Queen Elizabeth II.” 11 (48%) of the 23 respondents are male, while 12 (52%) are
females. Participants in this study ranged in age from 16 to 19 and 20- 23. Figure 1 shows that 8
out of 23 respondents believe that removing the queen from Belizean currency will make it less
valuable. While the remaining 7 said they are unaffected, and four said they would rather not
say. It was surprising to see that half of the students believe that removing the image of the
queen will make it less valuable. This leads to Figure 2 which displays a bar chart of the
response of " Have you educated yourself on the reason why the image of the late Queen
Elizabeth II can be removed from the current Belizean currency?". Whereas 9 (47.4) participants
said yes, 5 (26.3) said no, and the remaining 5 (26.3) said they didn't know. Chart the responses
to the question in a column. " Before the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II, did you have a
great respect and understating towards her?". Respondents said they had a lot of respect for her,
6 said they didn't, and 5 said they didn't want to say anything. I didn't anticipate this data well
because the respondents were college students, and I expected more answers than they preferred
not to say. Many of these responses did, in some way, answer my research question. A question
that has come to my attention is whether removing the queen's image from the Belizean currency
will benefit us.
pg. 14
Statement of findings
After collecting the data through the questionnaire for this research, the data shows that:
• Based on Figure 1, it was determined that 45% do not believe the Queen should be
removed and 37% do.
Based on Figure 2, 9 students have educated themselves on why the image of the late
Queen Elizabeth should be removed from Belizean currency and while 5others disagree.
Based on Figure 3, 7 students have great respect and understanding for her and 6 don’t.

Recommendation and Implementation
strategy
Recommendation
After conducting this investigation, I strongly recommend the ministry of education to hold a
referendum.
• The intervention of the local government and the Ministry of Education in developing a
curriculum about Queen Elizabeth II that is taught in all the nation's schools. This
curriculum will include more details about her and how she interacts with the Belizean
currency.
A referendum should be held so citizens voice their opinion regarding the Queen’s image
on the currency.
In the process of making these recommendations the strategies that I would Implement:
As seen in the recommendations, a online survey can be used to help students improve their
mindsets. Certain strategies, however, must be implemented in order for this to be as effective as
possible.
The Ministry of Education should carry out a more thorough survey to learn how students feel
about the Queen. There should be a course or program in schools that teaches students about the
queen's interactions with Belizeans throughout history and her role as the nation's constitutional
monarch. The best course of action should be decided after consulting with the ministry of
education. Teachers need to be trained in money sensitization so they can teach students about
the queen.
