D. Rationale of the Program/Activity
.Project-Based Learning is teaching method in which students gain
knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to
investigate and respond to a complex question, problem, challenge that
results in a product, publication, or presentation that is shared with a
public audience. Students are engaged in work that is substantial,
shareable, and personally meaningful. Students often called Project-based
Learning, “hard work, but fun” because the effort and engagement
produce results.
On the other hand, this kind of teaching method has the potential
to transform learning environments, where the role of the teacher shifts
from knowledge dispenser to that of the facilitator of learning. The teacher
supports students in asking complex questions and then finding,
choosing, ,understanding, synthesizing, and communicating solutions to
their questions.
E. Objectives of the Activity
The activity aims to develop project-based learning strategies that develop
the creative and critical thinking skills by providing complex questions.
Terminal Objective: At the end of the session, teachers should be
able to:
a. Provide teaching strategies and activities that promote
critical thinking skills and project-based learning;
b. Identify the subject areas that require the integration of
project-based learning approach ; and
c. Enumerate examples of project-based activities.
Enabling Objectives: Teachers should be able to:
a. Explain the importance of project based learning approach;
b. Reflect the benefits of project-based learning;

c. Discuss and apply strategies that enhance student’s capacity
to investigate and respond.
F. Expected Outcome and Results
By the end of the MPRE session, teachers will provide effective teaching
methods and strategies that promote the student’s capacity to engage and
investigate to various complex learning situations. Teachers will be able to
integrate these strategies into meaningful and interactive classroom
activities.
D. Summary Profile of Participants
The participants of the MPRE Day 3 are the 13 teachers, consisting of 6 male
and 7 female.
The resource speaker in the morning session is the BIS School Head Sir Noel
M. Nacion.
In the afternoon, BIS teachers identify discuss and develop strategies and
approaches that project-based learning may be applied.
Part II Highlights of the Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
Before the discussion/training proper, singing of the Philippine National
Anthem, opening prayer, singing of the Regional, Sarangani and School
Hymn was done. Energizer was executed, then message from the school
head were delivered.
B. Key Learning and Output (per module/session)

D. Synthesis and Closing
Day 3 ended with a realization of giving the learners the appropriate venue
for investigating and exploring the concept of teaching. While concepts are
getting complex, teachers should come up with the simplest strategies to
cultivate learning.
