NAME OF ACTIVITY: Literacy-English FilipinoTutorials


DATE: January 7, 2023
VENUE: Dulangan Elementary School
PARTICIPANTS: Pupils of Dulangan Elementary School and CJC-BED Junior High
School English Club
• I. RATIONALE

Conducting reading literacy sessions for selected pupils in the adopted community holds
significant benefits. Firstly, it fosters strong foundational reading skills that are crucial for
academic success across all subjects. Secondly, these sessions encourage a love for reading,
cultivating a lifelong habit that enhances knowledge acquisition and language proficiency.
Thirdly, targeted reading instruction allows for the identification and support of struggling
readers, helping to narrow the achievement gap. Moreover, improved reading abilities
contribute to higher self-esteem and confidence among students, positively impacting their
overall educational journey. Ultimately, by focusing on reading literacy, these sessions
empower pupils with the tools they need to become proficient learners and informed
individuals within their community.
It is because of the above reasons that CJC-BED finds it significant to conduct a
Reading or English Literacy to the pupils of Dulangan Elementary School.

• II. OBJECTIVES:

The activity aims to:

• Help develop the reading skills of the participants


• Encourage pupils to read and appreciate the beauty of reading

III. METHODOLOGY

• The Community Engagement Office communicated with all the facilitating groups
(English Academic Group, English Club, Other Selected students)
• Each group prepared the necessary documents for the activity
• Each group was assigned with a section to handle

• IV. NARRATIVE/HIGHLIGHTS:

Together with other groups during the BED Community in Dulangan Alementary School, the
English Academic Group and English Club left the school at around 7:45 in the morning. Upon
arrival, everybody gathered at the adopted school Mini Gym for a program. During the time for
the session, the groups went to their assigned section and conducted their activity.

The activity ended at around 11:40 in the morning.


• V. INSIGHTS/REFLECTIONS

English Tutorial Enhances the Receiver and the Giver. The activity enabled all the
participating groups to learn. The facilitators enhanced their skills and expertise in Reading
and the recipient learned from the facilitators.

• VI. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT



• The tutorial was successfully conducted but there is a need for the adopted school to fix
the level of students, so that the materials prepared by the facilitators will be
appropriate to the participants

• VII. RECOMMENDATIONS

• The activity has to be conducted regularly
• There must only be one level of participants in each session

• I. RATIONALE

Conducting math tutorials for the pupils of the adopted school is essential for several
reasons. Firstly, it helps to address individual learning needs, catering to varying levels of
aptitude and comprehension among students. This personalized approach fosters a stronger
foundation in mathematical concepts. Secondly, the tutorials promote active engagement and
participation, creating an interactive learning environment that encourages questions and
discussions. This, in turn, enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally,
the math tutorials contribute to increased confidence among students, as they grasp complex
topics and experience academic progress. Ultimately, by providing supplementary math
support, these tutorials contribute to improved overall academic performance and a greater
enthusiasm for learning among the pupils.
It is because of the above reasons that CJC-BED finds it significant to conduct a Math
Tutorials to the pupils of Dulangan Elementary School.
