SDG 4: QUALITY EDUCATION, and SDG 10: REDUCED INEQUALITIES

The project will help attain these SDGs by ensuring that children will have foundational literacy
and numeracy skills for lifelong learning and future opportunities. By improving these fundamental
skills, it will lead to high quality education for all children, regardless of their background. It also
aims to promote social inclusion and reduce disparities in educational outcomes, especially from
disadvantaged communities.

Project Starts: April 2, 2025

Project Ends: May 21, 2025

lll. OBJECTIVES angel

The general objective of this project is to teach young children in Barangay Sta. Clara the subject
Mathematics and English in order to enrich their knowledge and have better understanding of the
world. The proponents will partner with “The School With No Walls” (SWNW). Weekly visits will
be conducted to teach Mathematics and English to children aged 6-12 who are about two years
behind in literacy proficiency.

Objectives:

● To collaborate with “The School With No Walls” (SWNW), a volunteer group running a
community school and a church fellowship.
● To provide resources (ex. Notebooks, books, pens) to enhance their Mathematical skills
and Literacy knowledge.
● To conduct weekly teaching sessions focused on Mathematics and English to help bridge
learning gaps.
● To support career development among young generations to instill a dream of having a
decent life in the future.
lV. PROJECT DESCRIPTION FAITH

This project aims to develop a program in Barangay Sta. Clara, which will greatly benefit the
children

● 4W’S 1H

This project is an educational initiative in Barangay Sta. Clara designed to enhance the
foundational literacy and numeracy skills of 80 children in the community. Over eight weeks,
proponents will conduct three-hour weekly sessions focusing on Mathematics and English
through activities such as storytelling, problem-solving exercises, and interactive learning. The
project aims to promote lifelong learning by addressing the needs of children two years behind in
literacy proficiency while empowering families with the knowledge to support their children’s
education.

● What is learning? (of the students, not the community.)

The proponents will gain valuable experience in planning and executing educational programs
while improving their communication and teaching skills. By interacting with children from diverse
backgrounds, they will develop a deeper understanding of community needs, enhance their
adaptability, and learn the importance of fostering inclusivity in education.

● What will you do? (not the result)

The team will conduct interactive sessions aligned with the activity schedule, focusing on both
Mathematics and English. Each session will include specific activities such as an introduction and
assessment, reading comprehension exercises, basic and advanced math concepts, and creative
integration of reading and math. Activities like storytelling, collaborative problem-solving, and
practical exercises will be used to engage students while ensuring alignment with the detailed
schedule.

V. RATIONALE angel

This project is proposed to assist the off-grid community in Barangay Sta. Clara, where there is
no grid power, running water, solid waste management, or public transportation. Driven by the
proponents’ belief in the importance of empowering the next generation, as education is critical
for breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting community development (UNESCO, 2020).
Guided by this principle, the proponents aim to provide children with skills in Mathematics and
English

The proponents’ are encouraged to share their basic knowledge to the youth. With evident skills
in tutoring, they aim to enhance the educational foundation of their target beneficiaries.

The benefits of this project for the proponents are gaining a deeper perspective on the challenges
faced by communities who lack basic necessities. This project will enhance their empathy, social
awareness, and equip them to become more socially responsible individuals.
