Course Objective:
The subject EE-306 Digital Signal Processing is highly diversified in terms of applications in the areas like
Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication and Computer Engineering. The subject provides sound
platform for advanced engineering courses like Advanced DSP, Real-time DSP Design and Applications,
Audio and Speech Processing, Digital Image Processing, Biomedical Signal Processing, Signal
Processing in wired and wireless communication systems etc. The main Course Learning Outcomes
(CLO) of the subject are given below:
CLO1:
To understand and distinguish between continuous-time (CT) and Discrete-time (DT) signals and systems
CLO2:
To carry out time and frequency domain analysis of DT signals
CLO3:
To solve difference equations by using Z-transform and analyze system stability
EE-306 DIGITAL SIGNAL PROESSING 4(3+1)
Introduction, Discrete-time Signals and Systems, Convolution, Correlation functions, Z-transform and its
properties. Solution of difference equations using Z-transform, Mapping from S-plane to Z-plane,
Discrete-time Fourier Series (DTFS), Discrete-time Fourier Transform (DTFT), System response and
frequency response, DFT and FFT algorithms, FIR and IIR filters.
