Importance
• The CV is the tool that will help you pass the first step in the recruitment process.
• The CV is your ID in the corporate world.
• The size of the CV (number of pages) depends on your years of experience in the field.
• Therefore, as an undergrad or a fresh graduate, your It is important to remember not to lie

Sections of the CV
1. General Information
• Name
• Phone number
• Address
• Email *professional Email*
• Date of birth *could be include in the general information section as well.
• Your nationality.
• Military status *for males only*
2. Career Objective
• 2 or 3 statements of what you want to achieve in your career
• It should cover your personal development, development in the society and
development in the company, example: I would like to pursue a career opportunity in
the marketing field to utilize my knowledge and to grow my skills to advance my
organization and to help my society flourish and prosper *you should develop your
own objective*.
3. Work Experience
• Should also be from recent to oldest.
• Should include the name of the company.
• The duration you spent working there.
• 3 or 4 points indicating the tasks you have been working there.
4. Education Section
• It should be recent to oldest.
• Therefore, first it should include your bachelor degree, grade *indicating that it is in
the German scale, majors, name of the university, and year of graduation.
• Bachelor thesis title and the grade obtained.
• Name of the high school and year of graduation from school.
• Courses you took in the university related to the field you want to pursue a career in
*Optional*.
5. Internships
• Should also be from recent to oldest.
• Should include the name of the company.
• The duration of the internship.
• 3 or 4 points indicating the tasks you have been working there.
6. Extracurricular activities
• Name of the club or activity.
• The duration.
• 3 or 4 points indicating the tasks you have been working there.
7. Skills
• Language skills.
• Computer skills.
• Personal skills.
• These 3 skills could be included in only one section or they can be divided into 3.
8. Projects and awards
• The projects can be those related to the field you want to pursue a career in or your
majors’ projects.
• Academic awards, ex: DAAD internship.
• Sports awards, ex: a medal in some sport.
9. Hobbies
• Should include your real hobbies.
10. References
• Available upon request.
• Alternatively, you can include your references in the CV as well.
