Dear Mr. Salarde,
Warmest greetings!
I propose a tree-planting activity for our Grade 10 students (Leo and Virgo) as part of their performance
task in my subject, "AP10: Mga Kontemporaryong Isyu." Below is the purpose, objectives,
description, flow, and, the expected outcomes of this activity.
1. Purpose of the Activity:
The primary purpose of this tree-planting activity is to serve as a performance task for our Grade 10
students, directly related to our ongoing discussions on contemporary issues under the topic "Mga Isyung
Pangkapaligiran." Given the increasing environmental challenges we face today, I believe that this
activity will not only enhance our students' awareness but also empower them to take meaningful action
towards positive change. This hands-on experience will help the Grade 10 students to gain a deeper
understanding about the environmental challenges.
2. Objectives:
Educational Awareness: To increase students' awareness of environmental issues, particularly
deforestation, climate change, and their impacts on our planet.
Practical Application: To provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge from
classroom discussions in a real-world setting.
Environmental Stewardship: To instill a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship
among students, encouraging them to take proactive steps in protecting and preserving our
environment.
Community Engagement: To foster community and collaboration among students as they work
together towards a common goal.
3. Activity Description:
Date and Time: September 21, 2024, 7:00 am to 10:00 am
Location: Brgy. Magsaysay, Cadiz City
Participants: Grade 10 students, supervised by Lyn Antonette C. Batictic, SK Chairman of Barangay
Magsaysay, and, DENR Cadiz
Tree Species: [will depend on the availability of seedlings]
Materials Needed: Shovels, watering cans, seedlings
4. Activity Flow:
Opening Remarks: A brief introduction to the significance of the activity and a review of the
environmental topics discussed in class.
Demonstration: A step-by-step demonstration on properly planting a tree, including digging the
hole, placing the seedling, and, watering by the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources Cadiz.
Planting: Students will be divided into small groups, and each group will be responsible for
planting a specific number of trees.
Reflection: After the planting, students will gather to reflect on the activity, discussing the
importance of tree planting and how it relates to the environmental issues they've studied.
Documentation: Students will be encouraged to document the activity through photos or videos,
which will be used for their performance task submission.
5. Expected Outcomes:
Students will gain a practical understanding of how small actions, such as planting a tree, can
contribute to solving larger environmental problems.
Enhanced awareness of the importance of environmental conservation and the role that
individuals can play in creating a sustainable future.
A stronger sense of community and teamwork among the students.
This tree-planting activity aligns with our educational goals of fostering environmental awareness and
responsibility in our students. By engaging in this hands-on experience, students will not only fulfil their
performance task requirements but will also contribute to a greener, healthier environment for future
generations.
I am looking forward to your positive response to my proposal. May God bless you, and your good office
more. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
MS. LYN ANTONETTE C. BATICTIC
