Computer Hardware Component
A computer is a machine that can perform a variety operation
accordance with a set of instruction called program. It processes
the input data given by userand provide desirable information as
output.
The physical parts of a computer that you can touch,
such as the keyboard, monitor, CPU, hard disk,
mouse. Hardware is also known as the tangible
components of a computer
Computer hardware is essential for a computer to function,
and it plays a critical role in a computer system for several
reasons:
Data storage
Software operation
Performance
Reliability
A central processing unit, also called a central processor,
main processor, or just processor, is the most important
processor in a given computer. Its electronic circuitry
executes instructions of a computer program, such as
arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output operations
Arithmetic logic unit (ALU)
Performs arithmetic and logical operations on data, such as
addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, AND, OR, and
NOT
Control unit
Manages instruction processing and coordinates data flow
within the CPU and between other computer components
Registers
Small, high-speed memory storage locations within the CPU
that hold data the CPU is currently working on
A motherboard is the main printed circuit board
(PCB) in a computer. The motherboard is a
computer's central communications backbone
connectivity point, through which all components
and external peripherals connect. Motherboards
can be found in virtually all computers, especially
desktop and laptop PCs.
Random-access memory is a form of electronic
computer memory that can be read and changed in
any order, typically used to store working data and
machine code.
Read-only memory is a type of non-volatile memory used in
computers and other electronic devices. Data stored in ROM
cannot be electronically modified after the manufacture of the
memory device
INPUT DEVICE OUTPUT DEVICE
.
INPUT DEVICE
An input device is a piece of hardware that allows a user to provide data and control
signals to a computer or other information processing system.
Some examples of input devices include:
Keyboard Mouse
output device
An output device is a piece of computer hardware that converts data into a form that humans can
understand, such as text, graphics, audio, or video
printer speaker
A hard disk drive, hard disk, hard drive, or fixed disk is an electro-
mechanical data storage device that stores and retrieves digital data
using magnetic storage with one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters
coated with magnetic material.
A computer port is a hardware piece on a computer
where an electrical connector can be plugged to link
the device to external devices, such as another
computer, a peripheral device or network equipment.
