To be honest, I’m going to travel to London. There are three options provided namely:
spring, summer and winter. In my opinion, spring would be the optimal choice because of
the following reasons. Firstly, it can offer me a chance to go to many places thanks to
warm weather because it is a time when the climate is more pleasant after a cold winter.
Secondly, I have an opportunity to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities like cycling, climbing,
walking. Moreover, it’s a great way for me to discover special cultures because there are
many festivities in this season. When it comes to the other 2 options, I know that many
people would choose summer or winter because of some good points that it may have,
but as for me I can’t stand the severe weather conditions of those two seasons. In sum, I
would have to say that spring is the final choice in this situation.

healthy. There are three given suggestions namely: swimming, aerobics, yoga.

In my opinion, yoga would be the optimal choice because of the following reasons. First
and foremost, it can help me to be awake and concentrate on my work every morning.
Second, yoga can offer me a chance to keep my body in shape. Moreover, it’s a great way
for me to sleep better. When it comes to the other 2 options, I know that many people
would choose swimming or aerobics because of some benefits that it may have, but as for
me I don’t opt for swimming because I’m lazy going to the pool. About aerobics, it
requires music and I worry that it will annoy my neighbors.

In sum, I would have to say that yoga is the final choice in this situation.

with my friends and breathe fresh air. When it comes to the other 2 options, I don’t opt
for going to a concert because of unpopularity in Vietnam, and going to the movie is not
my choice either because it’s too crowded and costly. In sum, I would have to say that
going to the park is the final choice in this situation.

4. You received a gift, which is 2 plane tickets to Hong Kong. Who do you
want to invite to go with you?

- Your boyfriend.

boyfriend, my best friend. In my opinion, travelling with my best friend would be the
optimal choice because of the following reasons. The first, I have an opportunity to chill
out after a busy time at work with my best friend who share the same interests. The
second, she can help me to explain what I don’t understand about this new region because
she knows Chinese. Moreover, it’s a great way for me to hold onto memorable feelings.
When it comes to the other 2 options, I don’t opt for going with my mother because she’s
too busy, and my boyfriend is not my choice either because he isn’t fond of travelling
abroad. In sum, my best friend is the final choice in this situation.

swimming club would be the optimal choice because of the following reasons. Firstly,
it’s a great way for everyone to develop height and help them keep in shape effectively.
Secondly, all people have an opportunity to socialize with friends and meet new people
here. Moreover, a swimming club is suitable for all ages whoever want to enjoy
refreshing themselves under water. When it comes to the other 2 options, I know that
many people would choose a chess club or a yoga club because of some benefits that it
may have, but as for me, swimming is the best choice to chill out after a nerve-racking
time. In sum, a swimming club is the final choice in this situation.

6. Your friend will get married in the next week and you want to give her a
special gift. There are three presents which are suggested: a sum of
money, a dress, a piece of home furniture. Which is the best choice?

furniture. In my opinion, a sum of money would be the optimal choice because of the
following reasons. First and foremost, I personally think that most of a newly-wed couple
needs money to support their marriage life such as buy furniture, pay for honeymoney or
living expenses. Another reason I want to mention is that I’m too busy to spend time
choosing another gift whether it suits her welll or not? When it comes to the other 2
options, I don’t opt for a dress because I’m afraid of the dress doesn’t fit with her, and a
piece of home furniture isn’t my choice either because of not puzzle what they really
need or want to buy. In sum, a sum of money is the final choice in this situation.

7. Your school will organize a small party this weekend. What will you wear to take
part in the party?
- A charming dress combining with high heels.
- Jeans and a T-Shirt combining with sport shoes.

wear to take part in the party. There are three given options namely: a charming dress
combining with high heels, Jeans and a T-Shirt combining with sport shoes, a shirt and a skirt
going with flat shoes. In my opinion, a charming dress combining with high heels would be
the optimal choice because of the following reasons. First and foremost, it makes me feel
more confident when socializing with my friends. Another reason I want to mention is that it
suits me well because this combination look very charming(duyên dáng) and feminine(nữ
tính). When it comes to the 2 other options, I don’t opt for Jeans and a T-Shirt combining
with sport shoes because it is too informal and not suitable for such a party , and a shirt and a
skirt going with flat shoes is not my choice either because the skirt would be quite short and I
may face some embarrassing situations.

8. Your cousin is the best student of the class this year. His parents are
thinking about a present, and there are three options: a laptop, a
holiday, or some money. Which option would you suggest her?

my opinion, a holiday would be the optimal choice because of the following reasons. First
and foremost, having a holiday can offer her a chance to broaden horizons, it means that she
can learn a lot of new things from cuisine, culture to even outstanding landscapes, which can
make her life more colorful and meaningful and of course she has more experience for her
adulthood. Another reason I want to mention is that she will have a chance to let her hair
down after a nerve-racking time at school. When it comes to the other 2 options, I don’t opt
for a laptop because I know that her parents bought her one 2 years ago, and money is not
suitable for students like her.

9. Your school wants to rebuild a new zone to serve students. What is your
suggestions?
- A canteen
- A modern library
- A dormitory (kí túc xá)

To be honest, my school wants to rebuild a new zone to serve students. There are three
options provided namely: a canteen, a modern library, a dormitory. In my opinion, a modern
library would be the optimal choice because of the following reasons. Firstly, it can offer me
a chance to look for specialized documents for my study because there are a lot of useful
books here which aren’t easy to buy. Secondly, it’s a great place for me to study. Thanks to
quiet space, I can concentrate on learning to prepare the final exams. When it comes to the
other 2 options, I don’t opt for a canteen because it’s big enough to serve students. Most of
students want to rent house to live comfortably, so a dormitory isn’t my go-to choice.

10. You have just received a sum of money from your father as a birthday present. How
would you use the money?
There are three options for you to choose:
- To buy a laptop for your study
- To buy a fashionable smart phone
 - To save up for future

You know, I have just received a sum of money from my father as a birthday present. There
are three options for me to use the money namely: to buy a laptop for my study, to buy a
fashionable smart phone, to save up for future. In my opinion, to save up for future would
be the optimal choice because of the following reasons. The first, I’m going to buy a new
house in the next 3 years (trong vòng 3 năm nữa), so I spend much money to do it. The
second, there are many things to prepare because I will get married next year, a sum of
money can help me pay for living expenses. When it comes to the other 2 options, I don’t
opt for a laptop because I have bought it last month, and my phone currently is also in a
good condition (trong tình trạng vẫn rất ổn) so it’s not necessary to buy a new smartphone.

11. You have been stressed out recently, so you want to relieve stress by doing something fun and
relaxing this weekend. Which of the following activities would you choose: going to the
cinema, doing some cooking at home, or going shopping?

You know, I have been stressed out recently, so I want to relieve stress by doing something fun and
relaxing this weekend. There are three given options namely: going to the cinema, doing some cooking
at home, or going shopping. In my opinion, going shopping would be the optimal choice because of the
following reasons. The first, it’s a great way for me to reduce stress because I’m extremely excited when
I buy clothes that I like. The second, to wear a lot of new good clothes makes me feel happier and self-
confident. When it comes to the other 2 options, I don’t opt for going to the cinema because It’s boring
and doing some cooking at home isn’t my choice because I hate cooking.

12. Your brother has just graduated from university with distinction, and he has received job
offers from several companies. Which of the following positions should be chosen: a low-level
position in a multi-national company, a managerial position in a non-profit organization, or a
highly-paid position in a small family-owned company. Why do you think so?
My brother has just graduated from university with distinction, and he has received job offers from
several companies. There are three given options namely: a low-level position in a multi-national
company, a managerial position in a non-profit organization, or a highly-paid position in a small family-
owned company. In my opinion, a highly-paid position in a small family-owned company would be the
optimal choice because of the following reasons. The first, a small family-owned company can help him
have a more relaxing environment because there aren’t so many people here. He can share anything
about life and work which makes him feel more comfortable and happier. The second, he has just
graduated and it’s not easy to find a job which has a high-salary position. This is good news for him to
look for a safe and secure job. When it comes to the other 2 options, I know that many people would
choose a low-level position in a multi-national company or a managerial position in a non-profit
organization because of some good points that it may have, but as for me, working in a large company
asks a lot of skills and experienced communication which makes him feel uncomfortable and stressful.

13. An optional subject will be added to the curriculum for secondary students in your city. Three
options are suggested:
- photography
- swimming
- dancing
a) If I have the right to choose an optional subject to add to the curriculum for secondary students
in my city, a swimming course is my first choice. In reality, Vietnamese students have a
sedentary/inactive lifestyle/way of life and they seldom/hardly do physical activities to make them
stronger. They study at school during the daytime and go to extra classes in the evening. Whenever
they have free time, they play games, see films or listen to music. Additionally, according to some
statistics/surveys/studies, the main reason for the high rate of drowning deaths in Vietnam is that
children do not have swimming skills. Therefore, a swimming course is necessary for them in terms
of health and safety.
+ I don’t choose to Photograph because
- It’s expensive = It costs an arm and a leg
- It’s difficult for them to do
- It’s not suitable for them/him/her… because Dancing requires…
b) In my opinion a photography class is interesting and necessary. Vietnamese students study
most of their time: they go to school during the daytime and go to extra classes in the evening.
Therefore, a photography class can make students relax after hard working hours. It also helps them
to enjoy the beauty of life. With a camera, they can keep their most memorable moments in life
with their family and friends for the whole life.
c) In my opinion a dancing class is interesting and necessary. Vietnamese students study most of
their time: they go to school during the daytime and go to extra classes in the evening. Therefore, a
dancing class can make students relax after hard working hours. It also helps them to make friends.
Dancing practice helps students improve their physical and mental health, be more energetic and
active in real life.

vào buổi tối. Bất cứ khi nào có thời gian rảnh, họ đều chơi game, xem phim hoặc nghe nhạc. Ngoài
ra, Theo một số thống kê / khảo sát / nghiên cứu, nguyên nhân chính dẫn đến tỷ lệ tử vong do đuối
nước ở Việt Nam cao là do trẻ em chưa có kỹ năng bơi lội. Vì vậy, một khóa học bơi là cần thiết đối
với họ về mặt sức khỏe và sự an toàn.

gian học: ban ngày đi học, buổi tối đi học thêm. Vì vậy, một lớp học nhiếp ảnh có thể làm cho sinh
viên thư giãn sau những giờ làm việc mệt mỏi. Nó cũng giúp họ tận hưởng vẻ đẹp của cuộc sống. Với
một chiếc máy ảnh, họ có thể lưu giữ những khoảnh khắc đáng nhớ nhất trong cuộc đời với gia đình
và bạn bè của họ đến suốt cuộc đời.
f)Theo tôi một lớp học khiêu vũ là thú vị và cần thiết. Học sinh Việt Nam hầu hết thời gian học: ban
ngày đi học, buổi tối đi học thêm. Vì vậy, một lớp học khiêu vũ có thể khiến học viên thư giãn sau
những giờ làm việc mệt mỏi. Nó cũng giúp họ kết bạn. Tập luyện khiêu vũ giúp học sinh nâng cao sức
khỏe thể chất và tinh thần , khỏe khoắn và năng động hơn trong cuộc sống thực tế.

The reason is that it is really necessary for me to learn and work. It can help me to search for
information, documents and references. I can send and receive emails, messages from other people.
Additionally, I can relax with music and games, and read e-books with the laptop.
b) If my father gives a sum of money as a birthday present, I will buy a smart phone. The reason is
that I have already had a laptop, and it is not small enough to take with me to everywhere. A smart
phone is useful for my study as well as for my job. I can talk, chat, and send emails, messages to
others conveniently. I can also listen to music, play games or read e-books with a smart phone too.
c) If my father gives a sum of money as a birthday present, I will not buy a laptop or a smart
phone, because it’s a waste of money. The reason is that I have had both. Therefore, I will save up
for the future. Running a business is my dream, but I cannot start a new business without the
capital. Now I do not have enough, but I believe that if I save money gradually, I will have my own.

chuyện, trò chuyện và gửi email, tin nhắn cho người khác một cách thuận tiện. Tôi cũng có thể nghe
nhạc, chơi trò chơi hoặc đọc sách điện tử bằng điện thoại thông minh.
