Types of Mouse
There are three main groups of mouse:
1. Mechanical mouse has a rubber or a metal ball on its underside
which rotates as the mouse is moved on the desk. Electronic
circuits in the mouse translate the movement into signals that
the computer can understand. The mechanical mouse has to be
cleaned frequently and is used with a mouse pad.
2. Optical Mouse; use devices that emit and sense light to detect
the mouse’s movement on the surface. It uses optical sensors or
a laser. An optical mouse is more precise than a mechanical
mouse and does not require as much cleaning. A mouse pad is
not necessary for an optical mouse that uses optical sensors.
3. Cordless Mouse; also called wireless mouse, is a battery
powered device that transmits data using wireless technology,
such as radio waves or infra-red light waves. This mouse does
not have any cables connected to the computer.
