Assignment Brief and Guidance:
Nayatel is a renowned Network Company providing network design and
implementation services in the country. They are also very active in supporting the
academia and in this regard, the constantly provide internship, apprenticeship and
even job opportunities to existing and graduated students.
You have joined the Nayatel through TMUC CDC as an Intern and on your first day
at the company, your supervisor has assigned all the interns with 2 evaluation
activities. These activities are intended to evaluate your existing understanding and
knowledgebase regarding the Computer Networks.
Activity 1
You are required to develop a formal report of approx. 2000 ~ 2500 words. Your
report should focus on the following:
What networks are and how they work for organizations.
Networking Models and Standards used in Networks.
Logical and Physical Network Topologies and Principles
Services and Protocols
Network Devices and their working Environment
Network Bandwidth

For this activity, you are required to develop a formal report of approx. 1500 words.
Your response should be related to the following scenario:
“A new startup has approached your company for the design
and implementation of data network in their site office”.
The details of premises are as follows:
The compound has a covered area of 2000 sq. ft with two floors.
On ground floor, there is a reception + waiting area where there is a
desk for the receptionist and sitting space for visitors. Two rooms
having space for four desks in each room, One room for the
manager office. One room for the IT and Support having two desks.
On first floor, there are three executive rooms. One common area
with four corporate desks.
The IT related details are as follows:
Company has its own client server application that needs to be
deployed on a dedicated server in a local environment.
All workstations within the premises will have the front-end
application installed that will be connected to the server all time.
System is also available online and can only be accessed through a
VPN.
Proper authentication both at local and remote ends is required

Mostly workstations deployed in the premises are standard desktop
workstations but executives have their laptops and need mobility
across the premises.
In view of this scenario, you are required to develop your response in more of a
proposal format and ensure that what all you propose, comes with a formal
justification of your choice. Your response should base the requirements specified
in the above scenario.
