indicated at the beginning of each row.
Chain 3 will count as a dc.

R1: ch 4 into magic ring (counts as first dc and ch 1), *(dc, ch 1) repeat* 4 more
times, dc, ch 6, dc, ch4, dc, ch 6, dc, ch 1 sl st into top of beginning ch 3, pull magic
ring tight

Notes: Keep your tension even and dont pull to tightly on the sl st in this
round. It will cause the skull to curl in on itself. Reference pictures
provided for the hidden and awkward sl st.

Skull

Using Light Blue:

R3: sl back into SAME st, ch 1, sc in next 10 sts, sl in next 7 sts, you should have
what looks like an “extra” st [this is the sl st into ch 4 space from R2] sl st into this
space

R3: you should now be looking at your first dc post in the ch 4 space, sl st into the
middle of the first post then ch 1, now still working in the same dc- sl into the top
of the st [this creates a sharp corner], sl st in the next 4 st then ch 1, sl st into the
middle of last dc, sl into sl space from R2, sl in next 7 sts, sc in last st, sl into
starting chain, fasten off and weave in ends (37)

Granny Square

Using Dark Mint:

R1: 8 sc in magic ring, sl st (8)
R2: ch 3, dc in same st, dc inc in the next 7 sts, sl st into top of ch 3 (16)
R3: ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, *(dc inc in next 2 sts, ch 1), repeat* 6 more times, dc
inc in last st, slst into top of ch 3, there should be 8 ch 1 spaces, fasten off and
weave in ends. (32)

Don't worry if the skull overhangs the circle backing a little bit. It will still all fit
together. All connecting sts will be worked through the skull into the ch 1 space
of the circle backing . You can mark these ch 1 spaces in the backing with stitch
markers if it makes it easier for you. All skipped sts in R4 are referring to skipping
sts on the skull.

R4: placing skull on top of circle backing and using BLO, sl st into top most st in
the corner of the skulls mouth and the ch 1 space on circle backing, ch 3, 6 dc into
same space, skip 4 sl sts, 7 dc into next sl st in the corner of skulls mouth and ch 1
space, skip 5 slst, 7 dc into next stitch and ch 1 space,*(skip 3 st, 7 dc into next st)
repeat* 4 more times, sl st into top of ch 3, fasten off and weave in ends, should
have 8 petals total made up of 7 dcs
