SSL VPN Installation
Introduction
This guide helps you to download and install Pulse Secure VPN on your Laptop/Desktop.
Topics covered are:

Note:
1. The entire process takes 20-30 mins during the first-time installation and setup.
2. In case of personal laptops/desktops, please ensure you have anti-virus installed and updated.
Also, ensure your Windows is up to date.
3. In case of Accenture owned client laptops, having restricted access, Pulse Secure won’t get
installed.
Hence please use Personal Laptops/Desktop in such scenarios.
Pre-requisites for connecting to VPN
Note: Make sure you are not connected to any VPN, if you are then, please disconnect the VPN.
1. Accenture enterprise ID and password to connect to VPN.
2. A computer with the good Internet connectivity. Suggest using the wired network instead of Wi-fi
connectivity.
3. Ensure the operating system on the machine has the most recent OS Updates.
4. Ensure latest version of “Internet Explorer” installed. Note, Internet Explorer is the recommended
browser for accessing the VPN.
5. Ensure the following defender services are enabled on the computer:
a. For Windows 10 OS, ensure Accenture Windows Defender enabled on the OS.
b. Firewall on OS is enabled.
Note: The above steps are only for Windows 10 OS.
• For IOS, please ensure XProtect enabled and the computer has the latest version of the OS
updates.
• Incase if you are using a different antivirus program, then please check for the similar setting
for the respective provider.

a. Steps to check defender firewall status:
1. click on Start and type in the word windows security. Click on “Windows Security” App.
Result: The below screen is displayed.
Please ensure the last scanned date is the same day or one day before
Please ensure that the defender firewall is enabled as shown in the below screen.

b. Steps to check defender firewall status:
1. Click on Start and type “Firewall & network protection”.
2. Click on “Firewall & Network Projection” App.
3. Ensure that the antivirus & firewall service is running
Result: The following Screen is displayed. Refer to the highlighted text for validating if the
Firewall service is running.
c. Ensure the Windows Defender services are running:
Step to verify the services:
1. Click on Start and type "services.msc" and click on the Services App to open the “Services app” .
2. Verify if the services are running as shown in the below picture

Step 1: In the search option type Internet explorer and open Internet explorer browser as below.
Open link https://portal.accenture.com. After this link opens, please follow the next step.
Step 2: Open a new tab in the same browser & copy the URL https://mdc5-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM or
https://mdc6-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM & press enter.

Step 3: You will see the following screen.
Note: Do not click on continue or anywhere on the screen. It may take 5-7 minutes initially to complete
the system check. Allow the system to complete the installation.
During this time the internet will get disconnected and will connect again.
However, if you do not see this, please follow the next step.
Step 4: Click on ‘Yes’ prompt for the host checker prompts. Then you will see the following screen:
Note: Do not click on continue or anywhere on the screen. It may take 5-7 minutes initially to complete
the system check. Allow the system to complete the installation.
During this time the internet will get disconnected and will connect again.

Step 5: The following screens will be displayed:
Note: The screenshots may vary depending on the configurations of your laptop/desktop.

Step 6: Upon connecting, it will show the below screen
Note: Please don’t click on the start button
Step 7: Click on the tray icon on your task bar and click on the Pulse Secure icon as show below:

Step 8: Click on the Open Pulse Secure option as mentioned below
Step 9: Please ensure that the connection – mdc5-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM or mdc6-
gdnras.accenture.com/LKM as per the link that you have used in Step 1, is connected as show below:

Step 10: Now you are connected to the Pulse Secure VPN. You can now connect to SAP systems provided
in the mail.
Troubleshooting
1. How to re-connect to Pulse Secure VPN?
a. Open the Pulse secure app to reconnect to SSL VPN.
You will find the app in the tray icon on your task bar.
b. You will find connection mdc5-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM as disconnected. Click on connect.
Note: Internet will get disconnected and will connect again.

c. Please ensure that the connection – mdc5-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM is connected as show below

2. What if it asks me credentials? / Invalid credentials?
a. Pulse secure only asks for credentials when the laptop/desktop login credentials have been changed.
b. Pulse secure logon credentials are same as your laptop/desktop login credentials.
c. This also holds true when it says invalid credentials.
3. Why can’t I still connect to Pulse Secure SSL VPN?
a. First close all VPN related tabs and pulse secure. Then open the link https://mdc5-
gdnras.accenture.com/LKM in Internet Explorer.
b. After it loads completely, there will be a start button, please click on that. The VPN will get connected.

c. If the above method does not work, in the same link click on the sign out option on top right corner.
d. Now please click on sign in again.

e. Now click on start and the VPN gets connected automatically.
f. If the above method doesn’t work, then delete the connection entry from your Pulse secure.
Right click and delete the connection.

g. Then go to the link https://mdc5-gdnras.accenture.com/LKM and click on Start option.
h. The VPN gets populated in the Pulse Secure automatically and gets connected.
