For this task you will be required to answer written questions related to coaching netball to show your
knowledge and understanding of the key concepts of this unit.

Netball Technique Purpose Netball
Technique
A powerful pass using one-hand that can be thrown from above Shoulder Pass
shoulder height.
Used to change the direction you face when in possession without Outside Pivot
stepping.
An explosive movement from a stationary position that can allow you Take-Off
to get in front of your opponent.
An elegant movement that can be used in attack to move away from Leap
opponent and into space quickly or to defend an opponent by

moving towards them quickly.
With both hands extended, move towards the netball to receive then Two-Hand Catch

Requires agility to effectively deceive your opponent to gain Change of Direction

Describe a system or 'pattern of play' you could implement as coach of a foundation level netball team.
(Include details such as player positions, direction of player movement and ball movement/passing.)
Centre passes to goal attack who passes to wing attack at the end of the court near the corner who
passes in to goal striker, this gives the chance for goal attack to come back and help out with goal
striker.

Explain the purpose of each of the following netball equipment and resources:

Working with children check- mandatory stating you can work with children and you have no convictions
Size of the netball- Depending on age group, you’ll need to train with the designed netball for their ages
Safety procedures- Must understand the procedure to proctect the team in specific situations
Mandatory reporting- Legally obligated to report head of associatioin if player requently arrive with injurys
or in distressed
Teaching correct technique-Must teach the correct technique otherwise the possibility of player getting
injured and effecting the team as a whole.

Question 10
You are the assistant coach of an U9's netball team. One of your players, Aurora, is swearing and
throwing netballs at fellow teammates. Aurora then hits Florence in the head, and Florence runs to the
side of the court, crying. Florence's father comes up to you at the end of training and is upset and
demands there be consequences for Aurora's behaviour.
As assistant coach, explain in detail how you plan to handle this situation incorporating all parties involved
to construct your answer?
I would have a meeting with the parents and both daughters to discuss potential punishment as team
harassment is unacceptable. I would Aurora in that meeting to Florence and have her miss a coupler of
games so she understands that her actions lead to concerquences. This should teach her that what she
did was not right and shell improve herself as a teamplayer and person.
