Eagle, arguing that her LinkedIn connections belonged to the company. The Decision The
bittersweet twist in this case is that while Dr. Eagle successfully proved her first three claims, the
court held that she had not established any monetary damages, and was therefore awarded $0.
Although she did prove her point that the company misbehaved very badly, it is a rather hallow
victory. I believe that in the Kravitz vs PhoneDog that Kravitz is the owner of the Twitter account.
The twitter account was used for the promotion of the business. I believe once the name was
changed it was no longer a business account. I think on a moral level that when the account name
was changed he should have deleted all of his prior employer information. I believe that the
LinkedIn account did belong to Dr. Eagle. Dr eagle gave permission for staff to post information on
her behalf. I think that it was her account because LinkedIn should be more for a person and their
company not just for a company. I would have suggested for the Twitter case that the domain should
have been changed as part of the termination of his employment. I believe this could have prevented

Discrimination In John Wyndham s The Chrysalids
John Wyndham s, The Chrysalids , is a novel describing the effects of discrimination taking a dark
turn in society. The truth brought to one s eyes, concerning the cruelty that can be brought to this
world, including all past events that we had suffered through, is traumatizing; especially witnessing
connections from Waknuk to Earth. The horrors of Waknuk, was illustrated through the way the
community treated other. However, the realism, that reflects on the monstrosity of our society is
uncanny. With the characteristics of racism, ignorance, and fear, it shows how our two realities are
similar.
In most actions, a judgment view affects everything; usually judgement is based on one s physical
appearance, which demonstrates racism in both societies. The Waknuk society is based on the
superior figure s decisions, and evidently displays racism;showing a similarity to how our world
makes some decisions. During the hunt for David and the others, Michael warns them that they...
\are non human and therefore not entitled to any of the rights or protections of human society.
Anyone who assists you in any way is committing a criminal act; and concealing knowledge of
your whereabouts is also liable to punishment. (131) This illustrates how David, Rosalind, and
Petra are named deviant and are stripped from any rights of a human being due to their
differences. As in our world, people were treated as nothing, and brutally punished for something
they could not control. Unfortunately, this is happening with many cultures of the past and
present in our world today. While Uncle Axel is warning David about keeping Petra safe, he
states, This isn t a nice cosy world for anyone especially not for anyone that s different. (96) This
demonstrates how society only treats the majority of humans correctly. The abuse of people who
are not normal to the standard of everybody else is painful and horrific. Racism is a major topic
distributed in both societies hugely; nevertheless, in decision making there is a lot of ignorance.
In a part of debate of the way of living in each society, there is also ignorance, which forms into
discussing horrific decisions. Most of the time, demonstrated in both realities, common sense is rarely
Parenting Style

Developmental Psychology

I think so many factors influence parenting. I would like to start this off with one of the most
important factors I think that influence parenting, and that is having a child unplanned and not
being ready for it versus planning for a child and being ready for it.
I am a little old fashioned when it comes to certain things and especially when I think of how I
would raise my child. I do not have one, and I am a lesbian. I am not sure when I will have one, but I
want to with a potential partner, hopefully she can carry or we can adopt as well. When I say I am a
little old fashioned I guess I am referring to how I would raise my child. When I see the way my
friends act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s the parent s job to stay on top of things like that, so the children don t end up watching anything
bad. I also think some children play electronics too much, there is nothing wrong with them playing
it by all means, but I think some parents stick them on it so they don t have to deal with them.
Another big issue is many parents get mad at their children because when it s during the school
season, some young children don t like to do homework. When I was younger my dad taught me
my alphabets, math, emergency numbers, and address at a very young age. My dad always
bought me coloring books, pencils, and papers to keep me busy. We had a Nintendo system, but I
barely used it. Even though my parents didn t speak English or learn the things I did in school
they would still try their best to help me or find me help. People cannot expect for their children to
love studying and working with school materials if you don t support them and work with them.
When I have my child, I plan to paint and color with them all the time. It s so important to be active
with children especially when they are young and their brains are developing.
Communication and patience is the key with children. Also the right amount of emotion and love is
very important. I know raising children is not easy that s why it s not meant for everyone. And
planning ahead I think makes a huge difference. My friends tell me when I talk about what I would
do with my kid they tell me
College Students and Their Lives of Drinking Essay
80 percent of teen agers have tried alcohol, and that alcohol was a contributing factor in the top
three causes of death among teens: accidents, homicide and suicide (Underage, CNN.com pg 3).
Students may use drinking as a form of socializing, but is it really as good as it seems? The tradition
of drinking has developed into a kind of culture fixed in every level of the college student
environment. Customs handed down through generations of college drinkers reinforce students
expectation that alcoholis a necessary ingredient for social success. These perceptions of drinking
are the going to ruin the lives of the students because it will lead to the development alcoholism.

Students gain expectations to drink alcohol from each other, as they depend on it, pressure each
other and face a new environment and a new social setting. When in college, a student does not
have anyone looking after them and so they get free time and they do not know how to use it. They
end up filling up their extra time, with going out to frat houses, bars, and or other house parties to
drink. Students go from being in high school, where they have to be home by curfew and drinking is
still sometimes and issues, to not having a curfew and not having someone wait until they get home
that night to make sure they aren t drinking.

College students have no parents to tell them that they cannot go to a party because there is going to
be alcohol there. They have to take it upon themselves to make the decision whether they should go
or not. They do not have mom and dad making decisions for them anymore. Environmental and peer
pressure combined gets students to try the temptations of alcohol. There is not a weekend that goes
by that that alcohol is not available to students.

The students that drink too much do not understand that drinking just a little can affect the brain
with a lot of force. Once in the bloodstream, alcohol reaches the brain quickly and begins to affect
nerve cells. It slows the messages that travel along nerve fibers. Only a small amount of alcohol is
needed to impair the normal
Essay on Attacks on the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania
On August 7, 1998, two U.S. embassies were attacked almost simultaneously. One was in Nairobi,
Kenya and the other in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The attack in Kenya involved both a truck bomb
and at least two suicide bombers. The truck was at the back entrance of the embassy when the
bomb went off, and the damage was critical. This attack had more casualties than the bombing in
Tanzania because the truck that contained the bomb was able to get into the inner embassy
compound. Also, the Nairobi embassy was close to the center of the city which was more
populated and led to more deaths. The U.S. embassy was not the only building affected in the
explosion. The Ufundi building and the Cooperative Bank which were close by were both severely...

ambassador that was injured in the bombing. She had been meeting outside with Joseph
Kamotho, Kenya s trade minister. Their first thought from hearing the smaller blast was that it
must be the noise from construction. Another victim, Linda Howard, witnessed the explosion
around 10:40 A.M. She was on the fourth floor of the United States Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya
and was in a meeting. Soon after she heard the small explosion, she suddenly realized that all of
the windows were currently being blasted, the roof was caving in, and smoke seemed to appear
from every direction. Before she had analyzed what was going on, she was being yelled at by
Embassy guards to get down on the floor. After fifteen minutes of crawling around without being
able to see, they had reached the ground floor. What Howard saw next terrified her. She saw
lifeless bodies, fires everywhere, and the screams of terrified people. Bill Bar who is director of
the U.S. Information Service in Kenya, was also at the same meeting as Linda Howard. He also
recalls hearing a thump and thought it was possibly the sound of a grenade being thrown at the
embassy. Some also recall hearing gunfire outside of the embassy before the big explosion. Al Qaeda
is the international terrorist group responsible for these two attacks. The mastermind behind the
attacks was named Fazul Abdullah Mohammed. He was recruited by Osama Bin Laden who was a
Saudi millionaire. Osama was the leader that funded and supported Al Qaeda. For
The Gold Bridge And The Bridge Collapse
Silver Bridge
4.1 Background
The Point Pleasant Bridge or so called the Silver Bridge was designed by the J.E. Greiner
Company and built by the Gallia County Ohio River Bridge Company to connect Point Pleasant,
West Virginia to Gallipolis, Ohio. It was designed as a two lane eye bar suspension type bridge,
measuring 2,235 feet in total length, including the approaches. The bridge was the first eye bar
suspension bridge of its type to be constructed in the United States. [26] Figure 4.1: The Bridge
before collapse. [26] During the early evening of December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge collapsed
during a period of heavy traffic and 46 people were killed. Another nine people were injured. Of
the 37 vehicles on the bridge, 31 fell during the collapse. After some forty years of service, the
Point Pleasant Bridge collapsed without warning. [27] Figure 4.2: The Bridge after collapse. [26]
The bridge was constructed of carbon steel, which tends to crack. Many cracks were found
throughout the bridge among extensive corrosion. Upon investigation, it was found that the
collapse was due to a defective eye bar that experienced a cleavage fracture in the lower part of its
head which was resulted from stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue. [26] Since the eye bars were
not designed to be redundant, failure in one eye bar would disrupt the continuity of the suspension
system. This disruption is what caused the bridge to collapse suddenly. The location of the flaw
Earthquake Risk Assessment Paper
At my house there would be some violent shaking combined with a high liquefaction risk, and
based on this house being brick I don t think it would fair to well. The brick could easily crumble
given its age and the foundation could sink.
Temple Square/ ESA: Shaking Potential: 0.8 0.9 Liquefaction Potential: High
At Temple Square it seems like given the higher shaking risk and the high liquefaction potential,
there would be some considerable damage to a number of buildings in that area depending on in the
buildings there have been retrofitted.
Maverick Center: Shaking Potential: 0.4 0.5 Liquefaction Potential: High
The Maverick Center appears to be built with things like steel beams and might hold up considering
the shaking might damage buildings built with masonry in that area. The biggest risk would ... Show

The low liquefaction risk would mean that the foundations probably wouldn t sink. The concern for
this area would be keeping up with better building codes and potentially retrofitting some buildings.
Questions:
1. The safest place to be should an earthquake occur on the Wasatch Fault would be somewhere in
the South West portion of the valley, maybe near the Oquirrh Mountains, in a well build steel
building. 2. Just outside on the fault zones particularly where liquefaction risk is highest. 3.
Earthquakes of a magnitude 6 or greater may occur one every 50 330 years. The last Big One was
estimated to be around 700 years ago. 4. Some factors to consider when thinking about how
dangerous on place may be in an earthquake would be things like what the ground is like beneath a
foundation, the liquefaction risk, you physical location related to a fault, and even the materials used
in a building. 5. The liquefaction risk in the northwest part of the valley can be attributed to its
location to the Great Salt
Touch Up Home Research Paper
Homeowners who are about to move out of their property will want to ensure that they take care
of some necessary home repairs before their tenants move in. Taking care of minor repairs in
advance can save you a lot of money later on down the road. Touch up Work Once your home is
empty, it will be easier to see where touch ups are required. Use matching paint to cover up scuff
marks, peeling paint from doors, minor scratches on the walls, flaking paint from the windowsill and
elsewhere that could do with a lick of paint. If the paint is flaking, prepare the surface by sanding it
down to remove the old paint before adding a fresh coat of paint. Clean the Carpets It does not

Leaking Pipe Turn off the water at mains stopcock. Then run the taps to drain the system. Turn
off electricity if the leak runs close to wiring or electrical fittings. If punctured by a nail, leave the
nail in place. Call a plumber. Blocked Sink Or Drain · If the waste pipe from a basin or sink is
blocked, try a plunger. · Place a bucket under the basin or sink, open the trap in the pipe and poke
wire down to clear blockage. · Try a proprietary drain cleaner. · Call a plumber/drainage company.
Cistern Problems Take the top of the cistern off and see whether the ball cock is jammed. Shut off
the water supply to the cistern. Hold flush down until the cistern is empty. If flushing system
needs replacing, take mechanism to plumber s merchant so you can buy the correct one. If this
doesn t work, call the plumber. Blocked Loo Use a plunger to try and loosen the blockage. If it
clears, flush the loo several times to wash through. Open the manhole cover and try rodding the
blockage loose. If you can t clear it, you will need to call a drainage company who will have
various sophisticated tools for removing the blockage. Gas Fault This is a potentially deadly
situation. Natural gas doesn t smell but
Socioecological Framework Case Study
1.Framing the problem using Socioecological Framework In this section, I will describe the
determinants of type 2 diabetes in the over age 65 population in the U.S. and current researches,
programs and policies at multiple levels of socio ecological framework. a.Individual The
individual level of socio ecological framework aims to identify the personal behavioral, biological,
demographic as well as personal cumulative experiences factors. Cumulatively unhealthy food and
drink intake, lack of self motivation to regular physical activities, smoking habits and obesity are
factors that increase the risk of type 2 diabetes for aged population. Sometimes, the change of life
style due to aging is also related to the type 2 diabetes. Psychosocial... Show more content on

Community The community contexts engage broader relationships, as neighborhoods or
workplaces. This level of socio ecological framework intends to find out the features of these
settings that are related to the development of type 2 diabetes among elders. According to a study
of the University of Chicago, moving to a prosperous neighborhood significantly reduce their risk
of developing type 2 diabetes and obesity 11, which illustrates how significant impact the
community can have on the risk of type 2 diabetes. For a community where grocery stores are
hard to access while fast food restaurants are easier to access, individuals living there may have
higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes. On the other hand, communities have no fewer access to
exercise facilities are related to higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Social isolation, lack of clinics in the
community also associated with type 2 diabetes among elders. Researches about self management
education of type 2 diabetes in the school proved the effectiveness of prevention at community
level12. d.Societal The societal level of determinants includes the public policies, health care
systems, industries that produce products targeting elders etc. Societal factors that leads to higher
risk of type 2 diabetes includes cultural preference on unbalanced diets and lack of social leadership
of healthy life
